I'm going with the Rot on this one. My trunk is on the high shelf in the bike shed and I havent heard a rattle since.

Another fix for rattles seems to be Performance mods. These bikes need extra G-Forves to tighten up all that ABS.

Trunk is back on for warm weather riding with the wife. When it gets cooler, trunk comes off. That's why the rattling started bugging me, I wasn't used to it with the trunk off.

Same here. I put a strip of very thin weather stripping around the inside of both speaker cover's. Only the left side was rattling, just a litte preventive maintenance.
