I bought the Octane at the dealership and it wouldn't start the first day. They said the battery must not have been charged, so they delivered the Octane to my house the next day (Saturday). Monday it started up in my garage on the second attempt. Tuesday I didn't ride it. Wednesday it started up in my garage and I rode it to work. Then it wouldn't start at the end of the day. The temperature outside was in the 20's. Pretty darned cold out there, but I ride in all temps we get hit with in Virginia. The dealership was nice and picked me and the bike up at work. They charged the battery again, saying it looked like I left the key in during the day. Nope. Didn't leave the key in it. I rode it back to work yesterday and it had a hard time starting, but did eventually start. I rode it again today and now, I'm only hoping it starts up at today after work. I wonder if it is a starter issue.

It is the starter. Victory has had many issues thus far with them. Mine fried at 2K, same issues. Long starting, acting like it was not charging. Long story short, victory replaced the starter and ZERO issues now. Fast starting, perfectly reliable. Your starter is bad most likely, its a factory defect.
Hey Octane_456. Thanks for the response. The dealership never did replace it, but no problems have come up again. Nowadays I put the key in and turn it to the on position, then wait until all the usual startup whirrs and sounds stop before starting it. And yes, I hear both a whirr and a beep sound; whatever the heck the beep sound is, well that's beyond me. Anyway, that seems to resolve the issue at least in the warm weather. We'll see if it stops starting for me in the winter again. Might be stuck on four wheels during colder winter days. I suppose there are worse things that could happen.
