I'm at 2 months and 2900 miles and am having the same problem. Cranks slow and won't start, regardless of temperature or how full the tank is.
I don't know if the TBW throttle works during cranking or not, but I seem to have better luck if I turn on the ignition, give the throttle a full turn, then crank it.
Update:
It appears the TBW throttle works when the ignition is on. If I turn on the ignition and wait for the fuel pump to pressurize the system, I can hear the throttle solenoid in the engine activate when I turn the throttle grip.
This morning I turned on the ignition, waited for the fuel pump to pressurize the system, turned the throttle grip to stop and back, then hit the starter button. It cranked slowly, but started on the first attempt.
