I just got this bike in May. I stopped to fill up at a service station, went to start the bike and it sounded like the battery was dead, I pushed it off and made it home. Checked connections, battery voltage 12.8, and load test. It starts fine when cold but will not start when warmed up unless I push it off

I removed the battery to test it, double checked all connections from battery to starter. Still starts fine cold but won't restart once it heats up, unless I push it off

It was the starter. I had to put it in the shop and have it replaced. They had to put it on back order. The shop said it looks like its a common problem

I'm pretty sure it will be. I bet we'll see a lot more defective starters around 2k miles. That's when mine went out
