You would think that a lot of testing went into the bike before release and that this is a case of a bad batch of starters versus a poorly designed starter. Given the number of reported problems mentioned on this forum Polaris have some idea which VIN numbers are suspect and maybe a recall is in order.

Having same issues with starter now. Service guys at dealer are being real dicks. They require me to come to dealer for diagnosis before ordering starter, which causes 2 trips. Polaris is no help, called customer service and they to are acting like dicks. Is this what the future looks like for any Victory service or lack thereof? I am being treated as if I did just bought a used POS car.
With the Victory line being shutdown I can't imagine they would order a part without first diagnosing the issue and being sure it's actually the starter that is at fault. If they take the chance of ordering a starter to find out later the issue isn't the starter, with no more Octanes being build, they have less assurance someone is going to be needing that starter in the future. Stinks for you but from the dealers perspective not ordering the part until they're sure about the issue makes sense.
