I have 6K on my Octane and have developed a starting issue. It cranks but won't start. After several attempts it finally goes. The bike runs fine when started but I almost used up the battery trying to get it going. The problem seems to be getting worse now.

update: got the new starter installed today and the tech told me that the part number has been revised so they know there is an issue. FYI

There was a new part number on my replacement starter. So Polaris knows about the issue. If you are dealing with a Polaris dealer instead of a Victory dealer you are screwed. The UTV guys could care less about a motorcycle customer. Call the customer service number for Polaris.

I had my starter replaced at about 6,000 miles. The dealer tech let me know that the part number for the replacement starter had been revised. This tells us that the original one has issues. I now have 13,000 miles on the bike. The only starting issues I have now is that my bike will not start if the temperature is below 48'. It slow cranks and runs the battery down. I think this is due to the 60 weight oil thickening. I will be buying a block heater for the winter riding months....where is that outlet again?

The level of dishonesty that some former Victory dealers display is sad. I purchased my Octane from Southern Illinois Motorsports in Carbondale, IL. They were OK as far as the sales staff but their service and parts managers were really dumb. Tech's were no better. I am using Surdyke in Crystal City, MO now and they are so much more knowledgable and accomidating it is unreal. I have had two warranty issues and both (starter and wheel puck) were taken care of promptly and at absolutely no cost to me.

Surdyke rocks!

I just got this bike in May. I stopped to fill up at a service station, went to start the bike and it sounded like the battery was dead, I pushed it off and made it home. Checked connections, battery voltage 12.8, and load test. It starts fine when cold but will not start when warmed up unless I push it off
I had 12K on my Octane when I sold it. I had the starter replaced under warranty once. I carried a shop rag and a 10" plastic hammer with me. When the starter stops working put the shop rag on the starter (right side low) and hit the starter a couple of times. Your bike will start then.
