They have made great progress in the last 5 years. More to come"
Really? The Vision came out in the 2008 model year and looks exactly the same today, 8 years later, as it did the day it was first revealed. I'll admit they made a little progress on the tranny but WTF? Where is a better shifting tranny? Have they done anything but remove features from the "tour" version to hold down prices? Where is that 5 years of progress showing up? I can't tell my 2013 from a 2016 without comparing available paint colors. Mine is black so it has absolutely no difference from the present 2016 version except the miles I have personally put on it and the after-market improvements I have made to my own bike. At the dealer, those differences do not exist at all.

What is clear to me is you believe that your opinion is more valid than mine because you spoke to some dealers in New England. The world is bigger than that.
My point is people vote with their wallet. If people are truly unhappy with their bike they will get something else. If you look at this site you will find representative opinions from all over the world. How many threads do you see saying " The Indian is so much better than the Victory I traded it in?"
Granted the people on this site are not average consumer but that further makes my point.
Actually, if you go back to when the Indians first came on the scene, there were lots of posts like that. Lots of the folks here at the time made that trade but it was a short lived phenomenon. After that short fad-like move, it was all over and things went back to normal.

How about a 4 cylinder water cooled that looks like this one?

It is a picture of my 2007 Yamaha RSTD. It looks the same from the other side with both exhausts from that side joining and running toward the rear end.

I loved that bike for solo riding. It was comfortable and would walk away from either HD that I owned or my Vision. Unfortunately it was really a solo only bike because the joke of a back seat was good for no more than 50 miles.
