Glad to be here! Traded my 06 Yamaha Royal Star for my 2013 black CCTV just last night. Dealer is putting on some pipes and chrome and I should have her in a week or so. I am from Northern, IN (because I am too stupid to move...lol) and look forward to seeing all of you on the road. Ride safe!

Enjoy your new ride. As for pipes, I got the new tri-oval stage 1 kit and they sound great. Not too loud. A nice low rumble.

Thanks for the warm reception into the V.O.G. I can't wait to get some miles on her. The sales guy told me that the black one was the fastest, so I can't wait to find out if he is right...hahaha. I liked my RSV, but I LOVE MY CROSS COUNTRY! The dealer installing a Bassani exhaust system for me and he said that the HD's would be jealous. Does anyone have any experience with this brand? I am pretty much over the loud pipes, but the wife said "it definitely needs pipes". I guess she's not over it.

I too am a past Yamaha Royal Star owner. I really loved that bike. It ran flawlessly, rode smooth, was extremely reliable, plenty of power, and looked good as well. My only complaint is that maintenance was to time consuming. Having to adjust the valves can become a real pain to some folks. I really enjoyed it overall. But when I didn't have the time to do the required maintenance it bothered me. I also really desired the benefits of fuel injection. I agree with an above post. If Yamaha would put fuel injection on the Royals and also add hydraulic lifter that don't need adjusting I would very much consider that for my next purchase. Bottom line to me is this: Yamaha is crazy thinking that they cant get 18,000 for a new Royal. It is a great machine but carburetors in 2013? Give me a break! For $18K there are a lot more options out there that seem to make a lot more sense to me. In comes Victory. The price was right and the maintenance is nearly as simple as changing the oil and checking the fasteners for proper torque. This bike are as little maintenance as possible. I really like that aspect of owning my Victory. I bought my bike to ride. I have other motorcycles that I enjoy wrenching on, but they aren't $15K dollar machines. Sorry for rambling for so long. Enjoy your new ride. So far I have been really impressed with my Victory and I hope that you are too! Right on Victory! Ride on Brothers and Sisters!

I hear ya, it is a little outdated, butI think that is partly by design to keep it in line with the Hardley Riddenson's!!, I see you havn't got to ride much yet, but I was wondering what your impression of the Victory engine compared to the Yamaha is, I loved how "electric" the RSV engine was, the steering felt a "little" heavy, nothing crazy, if Yamaha (Star) would fuel inject that bike and chuck some ABS on it, and stop trying to make it look like an Electra Glide Ultra I think it would sell better, I love my XCT, I have to constantly remind myself that it is an 850 LB bike, it rides a whole lot lighter! but after riding EVERYTHING, before buying the XCT, that RSV was a very close second, I live in the mountains, so fuel injection, was a big deal to me, and most of "our" rides are at least "overnighters" so the XCT storage was big for us, especially when you can leave home in sunny and 60, and an hour later be in 36 degrees and light to heavy "fair to partly cloudy!" rain gear, warm/waterproof gloves, full face helmet, storage was also a big consideration.

My wife has not ridden the CCT but about 60 miles since the purchase. Not much to compare yet but initial response was that the CCT seat was okay but she still liked the RSV seat better. She is short and liked sitting a little higher like the RSV. We only had 40 thousand on the RSV. As for me I like the seat on the CCT much more. Bought the CCT on Dec 28 and now have close to 700 miles on it. Weather won't cooperate except when I have to work. I think the CCT handles much better than the RSV and enjoy the extras like 6 speed, ABS brakes, heated seat and grips. Our first long trip will be to Thunder Beach in May. So far I have no regrets in the switch. The RSV was a great bike but a little out dated.

Bama Pride, I understand that this is a Victory Forum,,, BUT, I was so close to buying the Yamaha RSV instead of the XCT!, only thing that really swayed me to the XCT, was my wife thought that the back seat driver position was better on the Victory, and I am sold on the Victory's suspension, and the balance of the bike is incredible, I thought the RSV seat was better than the XCT, anyhoo, how many miles did you put on your RSV, and what have you seen as the biggest differences between it and your XCT?

Welcome from cold and snowy SW Ohio. Are you aware there is a Victory bike rally called Lil Sturgis there in Sturgis MI the last weekend of July? That dealer there in Coldwater participates. Last year they had a torch run to raise money for charity, started at the dealers, and everyone at the bike rally participated and then had a big barbecue after together. Annual event. You can find them on facebook. A good turn out and everyone had fun. Some beautiful roads to ride up in that area.

For mzummak, Got it at Planet Powersports in Coldwater, MI. Got a great deal too from Tony King and AJ in parts. Highly recommend them for your next Victory or parts. Turnone was way too high for me and they weren't really motivated no make a deal. To be honest I felt like they had a take it or leave it attitude. Hope your experience with them was much better.
