Hey all. I just bought a new Octane. I live in Metro Atlanta so I'm having it delivered since I don't want my first ride on it to be on the interstate around here but I did take it for a test ride and I love it. I'm looking forward to getting some miles on the bike and I know a few mods I'd like to do fairly soon. I want to set up a discreet GPS mount on the handlebars for those long hauls. I'd like to change out the exhaust (haven't decided what I'd like to go with yet), and I want to look into doing a vinyl wrap. I've never had one done but I think I'd like to go with a matte navy with turned gold leaf effect accents.

I'd love to hear any thoughts or recommendations and I look forward to becoming a part of this awesome group.

Welcome and congrats on the bike! We have a pretty decent Octane community on here already and it just keeps growing. Like your idea of the vinyl wrap, as much as I really like the matte grey, seeing the ones that Rick Fairless painted really has me curious about some other color combos. As for your other mods, everyone here is chomping at the bit for the exhausts to start being released and some choices are expected to be available within a month or so. I personally have a Ram mount on mine that I mounted directly to the center of the handlebars above the triple tree. Works well for me, and they have all kinds of options available. Enjoy the bike!

Welcome and I like the sound of that wrap, def throw out pictures if u do go that route.

Hey, everyone. Thanks for the warm welcome. The bike is awesome so far. I do mean the vinyl wraps. They can do some amazing designs.

I hate that this is my second post but do any of you guys know if there is a universal brake lever that fits our bike? :p I'm totally fine but I managed to lay it down pulling out of my condo. I really don't want to pay OEM prices for something like that.

Good Luck with Aftermarket. Unfortunately we are a small footprint so our production costs for non-OEM parts is High.

Upside? There are some serious Victory aftermarket pieces out there and you get quality for the price.

Lever? I'm thinking you are stuck with Vic for that,,,,at least for now.

Welcome and congrats, very nice first bike.

Stay sharp, and practice as much as possible away from the crowds. There are crazy people out there. Dumped mine in a parking lot at <5 miles an our by sharp turn on bars and hard front brake to avoid bumper coming at me. Luckily, Vision = Tip Over protection, Octane not so much.

I was pulling out of the driveway to my condo complex and I stalled it while I was turning and I accidentally laid it over.
I fixed it for you. LOL! We were all there once. You'll get it. I think a stall with a dump is better than a whiskey throttle and a crash.

Like KG said you just need to get some saddle time and practice. Anybody can ride a motorcycle straight, that's easy. Its the slow turning stuff that's difficult.

A nice big parking lot and some tennis ball halves can get your skills in line. The key to most slow speed stuff is based on a small circle. Once you can do small circles in both directions the rest of riding becomes easy.

If you haven't done a riding class you may want to check into them. Many cycle shops either host them or can point you to a local one. Also many members here like the Ride Like a Pro series and it is highly recommended.

Thanks for the welcome and advice. I did take an MSF course which was huge help and I was just thinking earlier that I was going to an office park near my house that has a huge abandoned park lot at night. I want a lot more low speed practice but I'm very grateful that it only took a simple tip over and not something worse to figure that out. Looking forward to the community here and getting with some of you guys that may be the Atlanta area to ride with.

Welcome to the board, be safe, Atlanta is a zoo!

There's a Victory Rally just around the corner from you this weekend, lots of great Vic specific vendors.
