"What happens in California spreads across the country"...Is that why we are so screwed up??? Just kidding folks! I would applaud this action if a standard was established for all vehicles and enfored across the board but this is selective enforcement. Folks complain of profiling..this IS profiling. What about loud cars? Trucks? How about the cars with the obnoxious boom stereo systems? Don't get me wrong..I LIKE loud pipes but not excessively loud. The AMA is wrong and should only support this effort only as long as noise standards are being applied to all motor vehicles.

To me, it ain't worth getting all worked up on the forum but if you make a law it should apply to all. I agree the V-twin with straight pipes will drown out the Honda with the fart cans. No arguement there but that isn't the issue..the issue is noise and enforcement. There are more loud cars, trucks and stereos in this area than bikes...so if the AMA can't push for equal enforcement then they shouldn't push for any no matter how well thought out...equality in noise enforcement is the key and if you can't make a law that applies to all you shouldn't make OR back a law.
