I did a series of vids to document my wind management journey with the 2015 cross country ( i have witchdoctor lowers on as well to control buffeting)

1. install and compare to factory long ride shield
2. first ride with shield
3. the difference in wind with lowers on and off

I have a 14" long ride and love it (6'1"). Also have the Madstad system and will be putting it on tomorrow because of the 95 degree temps with 90% humidity. Need more air flow without the head in the paint shaker effect.

I have a 2016 Victory Magnum.I am looking to upgrade my windscreen as wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the Long Ride Sheilds
From my experience I have owned a Victory Magnum since the end of 2014 as I purchased before 2015. Most of the so called buffeting is due to wind from under the fairing. I think you benefit from a set of lowers . A good shield is great but may not get the results your looking for without lowers or some type of wind management. I ride with a 9 inch windvest and I am fine and love it because I have a set of JTD lowers.

I have the CC tour with lowers and had lots of buffeting with a 11" KW shield. Went to the 14" and all buffeting is gone. Shields have a lot to do with it along with how tall you are. Madstad fixes it all if you can handle the looks.

I was speaking in reference to the Magnum, not the tour. Magnum has more rake to the front end and sits differently in the rear . Since OP stated he has a magnum I was speaking in regards to that bike. I can not speak for the tour. That's also why I stated in" My experience" as well as windscreen with lowers if he wants the best results.

Did you ride your tour without the lowers on ?

I have an 08 Kingpin with the factory shield. When I first got it I would get beat up by the wind coming from below the shield. If I did not have a chin strap it would have blown my helmet off. A pair of lowers solved the problem.
