My J&S jack spans the peg mounts in front and the case bottom on the other and is dead solid, no issues.
Will not hurt the cases.

You have to remember, everything on the bike is built off the engine including the frame, the engine is the stressed member, the frame is there just to mount parts to. The engine cases are stout castings that can take the stresses.
