I went out and hung with my brother and shot some pew pews. One was this 7.62x39 with his can on it. I like how the can matches the barrel so well. I think I need to get myself one just like it. Nothing crazy, just shooting a steel gong a little passed 100yrds. I had some fun with my little Ruger Max 9 shooting it too at about 80yrds out. Also, shot the P365. We were doing other things so I started a little late and started losing light. Got the dot close but I need to bench it to make sure I get it spot on. Overall, it shot well but I need some more trigger time to get used to the Sig pull.

I also took out two old 22s I bought a while back. I am not sure I mentioned them. One is a Browning SA-22, 22LR, made in 1959-60. It is a little semi and I love the lil thing. It is so light and thin. Ran great. It ejects out the bottom. The other is a Winchester Model 61 pump from 1959, in 22mag. I only sent a few through it but I hit the steel and it seems to be in fine working order.

I can not wait to live out there too and be able to just step out back to my firing range. We have an actual range in the works but there is a creek cutting through the property we have to deal with getting back there to it. Still have some clearing to do. I plan on shooting the big boys back there on the range but also have some small steel around the back side of the woods behind where my house will be. That way I can sit on my back porch and plink with my rimfires.

Have a good friend with a 105 acre farm. Mostly wooded but has fields for hay and open areas. It's gorgeous and quiet. BUT, he is a 1 man show and spends a lot of time on a mower of some kind or fixing something. Walking out your back door and shooting would be nice.

Sounds like an awesome plan. How long until it comes to fruition?

5-7 years. Just depends on when I pull the plug. I can do it a little under 5 but may stay 7 for a little more pension.

I have to clear my land and build.

Had an older fellow that wanted to surrender a Sig P365 Micro. Appears to be brand new, loaded, but never fired. A while ago his partner passed and he already surrendered a Beretta 70S a few weeks ago. Nobody bothered to tell me about it though so that one is gone forever. This time I got the tip so I went to check it out.

I found out he just found it and didn't know his partner had it. Like the other he didn't want it. I made sure he knew he could keep it but he's just not a gun person and wanted it gone, but not into unsafe/unknown hands. I asked if he would be interested in selling it to me and with an excited voice he said he was. I asked if he had a figure in mind, but he didn't. I probably could have offered him anything but I offered $200 cash, and he was very excited to accept.

So, now I have a P365 Micro and the customization has already begun. I've ordered a Wilson Combat grip module, a Radian Afterburner Ramjet barrel and compensator combo, a mag w/extension, and have a different trigger in mind I've yet to order.

Another officer I know has the Ramjet and he swears by it. I watched several review videos and it seems like the real deal. Basically I'm giving it the same dimensions of a P365 X Macro, but with a better compensator system and a more 1911ish grip profile. It will end up looking like this.

My brother has a few P365s and loves them. So here's my chance to see what I think. All in, not including an optic(if I get one), I'll be at $800. The Ramjet is $400 after tax, and that's with a discount. Not cheap!

Oh, plus it came with the case, 2 mags, and 2 boxes of ammo too. I'll probably sell the 2 mags to my brother and get another two with the money. It came with 10s that fit the shorter frame. The frame I ordered will take a 17rnd, which is what I ordered. I also ordered a plus 3 extension to check out. Once I know which I prefer I'll get a couple more. I know Sig makes a 21rnd but I'm not sure it will fit the frame I bought. I have to check out the magwell and see if it will accept them. They have a little raised section on the mag base that may keep them from seating completely. I couldn't find the answer online. Most all examples I found showed the person using a mag with extension or the regular factory 17rnd.

I gave the guy my number and told him if he finds anything else to the me a call. I've gotten ammo before but this is the first gun. I've heard other officers running across it, but this was my first opportunity.

Welcome to the Sig family. Once you go Sig you won't go back lol

I mainly use CLP and Tetra Grease. Any siding area usually gets Tetra Grease.

With that lot of oil guns I did get some Kroil and Ballistrol. I like both but I won't be using them on the regular. They've been great for rehabbing the old ones though.

I also use another Tetra product on occasion when I'm cleaning something more dirty than usual, it for a hard to reach place. Cashed Action Blaster. It's a spray that blasts things out but doesn't make a huge mess and leave everything wet.

I just bought so Tetra Grease to try out on my 1911.

You obviously don't have a Platypus. Lol!

I have nothing against Sig. It's just I had Glocks since high school. Going to the police academy I could select a Glock or a Sig, but the Sig had the double/single trigger with a decocker. It just wasn't for me.

What Sig is producing now days is much better, and maybe if I was going through again I would select one.

I do really like this 365. Carried it last weekend on a side job in my new cust8 holster. It's great.

Did you see the new 2011 Sig has produced?

Looks nice. Uses 320 mags.

When I use it and rack the slide after reassembly there is some that will be at the back of the slide rails that come out. I lock the slide back and rub that on the top of the barrel. Rack it a few times and lightly wipe off any extra. Puts a nice slick protective coat on the metal.

It will harden on the outside over time, but will break open and be soft underneath. Makes cleaning it off to reapply nice and ready. I've used it for almost 20 years now.

I haven't had spare funds for a new gun in awhile. When I do I definitely would love to try a Platypus. Looks like a great pistol.

I do enjoy the pistol single/double trigger option on my sig. The trigger pull is consider the safety on my M11A1. Then the short rest trigger makes for fun mag dumps.

I haven't seen that 2011; I'll need to look into it.

I have many sig handguns. The guns are great but the company has all but turned me against them. I love the 210, 220, 226, and 229 in da/sa. Dak (same for HKs LEM) I hate. And I have a couple SAO versions but I think they are a bad compromise for sd. One of mine is a 220 10mm for hunting so sao makes a little more sense. The 320 is ok for someone who wants a glock but can't stomach saying Glock. Otherwise it does nothing the Glock can't do. I haven't pulled out one of my 320s since I got them and they are all pre-voluntary- recall-thats- not-a-recall.

You're not alone in that feeling from some I've talked to.

I really wasn't liking for one but it came up and I jumped at it. One gun everyone that has one seems to live is the 365.

I do also have a 232SL from Germany. I got it for the wife but she's never carried it. I can't because it bites my hand with the slide. My hand is just too large for it. Nice gun though. She's cross eye dominant so I've since built her a Ruger Max9 with optic. She hasn't carried it either. She has not taken it serious so I haven't pushed it. I do carry that one from time to time and it's a great little gun.

Looks nice, at a good price point. Especially compared to the Staccato XC, which is over $4k. I can't see how it would be as nice and smooth though.

I'm not crazy about dual controls, but I get it. The lefties need guns too. Lol! Tactically it's not a bad thing to have, I just don't prefer it personally.

I'm not opposed to getting a 365. I carry a glock 27 normally if I carry. During winter sometimes I carry a 229 in a galco shoulder rig. I deer hunt normally with a 220 or glock 20 in 10mm. Rarely drag out the wheel guns to hunt.

Nice target rich environment you got going there. We love shooting steel & my steel targets have proven that they’re the way to go, just need painted every once in a while.
I picked up a second set of thinner 1/4 steel paddles for my tree when shooting lighter calibers that wouldn’t flip the 3/8” thick ones. Have fun!
