I recall you sayin its feasible, but I wasnt clear and figured I would ask. The outputs of the OEM headunit on the Magnum are amplified, correct?? or no??

So I thought I read theres still a way to use then as inputs to an aftermarket amp for the 4 speakers. Will I need a DSR1 ? I picked one up just in case.

I can make my own harnesses, Im just curious if theres pics or a simple explanation on what to do to achieve it. Thanks

I havent broken my bike down yet, so is there pics of what sections off the OEM headunit I will utilize to convert or plug into the amp inputs??

Ok. First you will only be using the rear channel leaving the head unit on its way to the rear amp. If you have a magnum without the rear amp you may still have the harness that leads to it. This is where the harness from V-Twin audio comes in handy. It is a plug and play from that point of connection that leads back to your new amp you will place under the fairing. Otherwise figure out your speaker leads running to the rear of the bike in that harness and run your wires now input to the new amp accordingly only using rear speaker input.
The front speaker output leaving the head unit is amplified from the built in amp on the factory head unit. You do not want to use that and the DSR1 isn’t needed.

Alright thanks.

Pretty sure I got it well covered from this point.
I saw the Witchdoctors batwing breakdown. That helped alot.

Only thing left for me to figure out is where the rear harness goes to exactly, and what I need to disassemble to get to that, and the battery.

Mine came from the dealer with rear speakers, but I have no idea how its all fed yet

Is your bike an X1 ? If so you have factory rear amp and speakers. Stop on a regular magnum the dealer or previous owner may have installed the rear set up. Simply follow the leads from your rear speakers to the harness that may also be connected to the rear amp under the rear fender. The speaker leads leaving the head unit to the rear amp is your new input for your new amp. Obviously from your new amp you will run a new set of speaker wires to your rear speakers. Good luck and remember higher DB ratings regarding sensitivity are best for speakers on a bile. DB drive makes motor sports speakers with 103.5 DB and you will hear them ! I also like Polk MM692 for the rear. Waterproof is the other feature you want to look for.

Not an X1

2015 Red n Gray Magnum. Original owner told me dealer did the aftermarket upgrades to bring it to X1 level on tunes, as well as mini ape hangers, and other aesthetic options.

I got the DB Drive 6.5s you recommended
Diamond Audio DIA-MS69CX for bags
Soumdstream PN4/1000D amp

I may change the amp, not sure yet
Was lookin at
Rockford Fosgate TM400X4ad

I am a metal head, love FFDP, and old school thrash. So Im shootin for stupid loud, and scary LoL

Go for a 600 watt amp. Try to get over 100 rms to the speakers. Arc Moto 600.4 is what I have in one bike. Excellent amp. I believe Memphis audio has a new powersports / marine amp out as well with 600 watts.
Tell you what I did on my wife's X1.
Sound stream 4 channel running dash and bag lids. I tried an MB quart marine 2 channel 100 watts per 8" speaker in the lowers. Running stock deck. Not as defined as my Arc Moto setup with JVC head unit but it's loud and it's heard on the open road. For now it's just fine. My plans are to get an aftermarket HU. While I'm not into the competition level of sound systems I do like a quality sound.
