you felt compelled for some reason to jump over the fence and switch to Silkolene oil ?

Some might claim it was fate, destiny, the universe perhaps but it was purely luck I found the Silkolene on sale so I gave it a go, honestly after I got the Silkolene I debated about pouring it into my vic for a long long time, glad I did

Quoting Jim Carry as the grinch “that’s what these tests are for”!! My bikes very close to the 89k mile mark, its first 23k miles were on Victory oil, then went in my Rotella blend from 23k-82k miles and these last 7-8k miles has been with the Silkolene, so far, so good. In fairness, I remember both your clutch ( x’s 2 ) & base gasket ordeal ( plus many others, sorry but a few of you guys are kinda like the furniture since you’ve been around here so long haha ) with your experiences in mind, I left my bike sit overnight to pre soak the clutches in the new oil, I pulled the spark plugs so I could whirl the motor over while working the clutch to complete an even overnight soak so 🤞, I’ll keep everyone posted but wow what an audible difference in valve train & shifts

My 16 X1 has an audible whirl sound

My 15 has that same whirling sound when idling in neutral & the clutch is out, pull in the clutch & the sound goes away, that sound has always been there since I got the bike May 2020 with 13,913 miles and with 88,630 miles now the sound hasn’t changed at all. And yes the Silkolene is semi synthetic but their V twin oil is NOT jaso ma

Is the Silkolene you are using semi synthetic

They have every flavor but what I use is semi syn

changing to it at that mileage didn’t initiate a slipping clutch

I honestly believe letting the clutches soak overnight in the new oil made all the difference

The issue with Silkolene is availability and price. I can’t find it anywhere for what @Bikesofbrads paid.

And don’t you forget it hahaha, honestly, i just got lucky finding it and for that price

What about the future ? What will it cost ? Will you switch ?

I got enough for 13 oil changes and when I run out I’ll probably go the Ultra 1 Plus route as long as it keeps getting good reviews from our trusted members

I’m not worried about saving $25 an oil change

Must be that Florida boat life haha, with me only paying $22 for 4 liters or 4.25 quarts for the Silkolene, after my Napa gold or Wix filter I’m only $30 all in

to. Im seriously thinking about running 7500 but my OCD is having a real hard time with it 😂

Split the difference and change it at 6250 or do an oil sample with lack blab or whoever, I need to send one in myself

Silkolene, it comes in a single 4 liter bag? Nice! No fuss, no muss. One container to dump the old back into. Done.

Yes it does and yes it is very convenient, I’m thinking about tryin it in my katana too

The 4T is for bikes with wet clutch

I fixed it haha, the oil geeks vids say it’s the jaso ma 2 semi syn that’s important reg ma might be like you & too slick. Hell, I ran diesel oil for 65k miles without any issues for pete’s sake, we gotta use these balls for sumpin 🤣

I think is several variables when picking the best choice for our individual scenarios, ambient temperature, the altitudes you’ll be riding in, the bikes load, your oil change intervals and riding styles all are things we need to consider. If I hadn’t found all the Silkolene ( ITS MINE, ITS ALL MINE evil laugh WUHHAHAHAHA ) I’ll take who’s a selfish bastard for $22, 😂 seriously though if I hadn’t found the Silkolene I was about to order that Ultra One Plus MD2420 found and has had great results with, same for Mark, I highly value both of their opinions, one more so than the other but I’ll let them sort that part out hahaha
