I had the old version pre plug-n-play. Had issues with the light on the fob staying lit, ended up selling it.
Might be up for another go at it if the fobs have been updated.

The fobs have been through a complete update, however the light on the fob should only light up if you depress the button.

My issue was I would look down at the fob and the light would be on. It would go out if I pressed a button tho. This was 2014-2015 maybe, if I recall correctly...

 

I believe they start to flash the LED when they get low.

Could these two things be related?

 

I have the old school kill module on mine. Depending on what kinda pricing we're talking about I could be persuaded to upgrade.

I'm interested as well. Coming from a H-D, I'm always leaving the damn key in the bike when I walk away.

Not sure if you all have one for a Honda CTX700N? The Wife just got a new bike...

 

I'd be interested but have some concerns. Is there any indication that the batteries in theFOB is going bad or a fail safe to start the bike without the FOB? I'd hate to be somewhere and it not working and needing a tow home. Is it possible to have the key on the bike be linear with the system in said case where the FOB is DOA or the system somehow fries out?

They recommend changing the FOB battery yearly. If it's set up the same as what I have I believe they start to flash the LED when they get low.

There is a failsafe, I had to use it one day when I left the house without the fob. >.<
You call a rescue hotline and they'll help you get your bike started without the fob.

 

Could these two things be related?

It's possible. I never really thought about it that way!
