I see the manual says to use Loctite 564 to seal the threads. I don't have any, there is none locally that I can find. Even out auto mechanic doesn't have any. Is there anything else that will suffice? I do have some blue loctite that I dont' think would be a problem, but I have been wrong before.

Is there a special socket to remove and install the switch?

From what i can tell Loctite 564 is a thread sealant like used on pipe threads. I would think any type of thread sealant would work.
I would probably use teflon tape like plumbers use.

I don't have an answer to your question but I do know the recommended Loctite formula has as much to do with the material type as the hold. Here is something that might help you make a decision:

If I'm not mistaken Loctite 564 is a thread sealant not a thread locker.
