I just bought a new 2012 Sunset Red Vision a little over 2 weeks ago.
I bought the bike sooner than planned to take advantage of the incentives.
I ordered the clothing for $250 but had to drop the polo shirt off because they were charging so much sales tax and I didn't want to give a credit card to them over the phone. I told them that I would pay cash when I picked up the stuff, especially since they've had my money for other stuff and I didn't have
I told them I would use the difference to get the Victory sunglasses they had in stock when I picked up my apparel and some other items that I paid for but still haven't received.
I called them today to ask if they were in and only 1 shirt has arrived. I was also told that I couldn't use the remaining balance of the clothing credit because it had to be ordered back then and it couldn't be used on the sunglasses that they have in stock. (THEY DON'T HAVE TO ORDER THEM. THEY HAVE A BUNCH OF OVERPRICED GLASSES SITTIN THERE!)
I still have parts that are PAID for that I haven't received. They got the whole 250 allowance for clothing but won't let me use it all.
I was going to ride over 100 miles to the dealership in Athens AL to give them another almost $2000 for the reverse kit and the passenger armrests. I was also going to pay them to install them to the tune of over $500 more.
I WILL NOT GIVE THEM THAT BUSINESS NOW.
I had to rant because my new "Bucket List" bike's FM radio doesn't work and it has developed a few other problems and I was still going to throw more money at it and try to support a new dealership. They would lose a valuable customer and thousands of dollars in future revenue over a measly 30 bucks or so.
I've have better experiences with parts and service at HD dealers, honda Dealers (which usually suck), and even a closer Victory dealer.
I used all of my 250 accessories cash plus another 500 bucks and I'm still waiting on some parts.
I was also told (after I paid for the bike) that the Military cash rebate wouldn't be sent directly to me but would be sent to the dealer and they would cut me a check.
I'm not feeling too good about that now, considering I have to prepay for everything even when they already have some of my money and parts that I don't have.
The military cash DID NOT go towards the purchase price of the bike. It was part of the incentive to buy a Victory, knowing I would get it.
Anyone else here bought a 2012 under the most recent promotion?
What was your experience?
Has anyone actually received their Military cash rebate.
My buying experience with this dealer hasn't been what I've come to expect.
I paid for the bike several days before I actually got it. I gave them a cash deposit to get the bike.
Several days later, the bike was still at the original dealer. (I could have paid them less but instead paid the "New" dealer a lot more to help them since they were new.)
I ask the dealer I was purchasing from why it was still sitting in GA.
They told me, "Oh, You have to pay for it in full for us to get it".
I'm like, WTF?!?!?, Why did I give you $500 cash the other day to get the bike? You could have told me that then.
They mislead (lied) about this just to lock me into buying this from them. I could have just gotten it from the GA dealer, especially since I drove all over the southeast to find the bike I wanted.
I own 4 other bikes. (I sold 2 this year). I deal with other dealer's parts departments at least every 2 weeks.
I spend thousands every year on parts and accessories.
Victory needs to step up to the plate and become customer friendly like the "other" American brand.
Heck, this dealer could learn from my crappy local metric dealer about parts and service customer satisfaction.
I'm not petty or unreasonable.
The people that work there are always friendly even though their policies aren't customer friendly.
I'm not asking for anything that I'm not due either. It is just that it is so hard to have to drive over a hundred miles to a dealership that makes it harder to deal with than other much closer dealers.
I bought the Vic because of reading the forums and it seems that this community is much like the VTX community.
It seems like there are a lot of good folks riding Vic, from what I've seen on this and the other Vic forums.
Sorry for the rant.
Thanks,
