I've never been a guy that would spend big money on a purely cosmetic change to my bike.. but I'll be damned if I'm not tempted to do a 21" on my XC. From all accts it doesn't adversely effect the handling, but man does it look good! Good on ya man!

 

The bike is plenty fast enough....I like the cosmetic extras more than performance

But, my buddy is tempting me with Cams....May be my next upgrade.

 

Did you add some rake to the trees?

 

No added rake.... Doesn't really change the handling

You are going to love the difference it makes. I swore I would not do mods. "I don't need it, it's fast enough, Yada-Yada-Yada". Then Kevinx came to town and I just snapped! I broke down, took advantage of the fantastic luck of having one of the Masters in town to do it, and did it. I am so glad I did. It made all the difference, man.

Now, will I ever do a 21 inch wheel? Nope. I can't drop a grand or more on one wheel. Plus a tire, plus whatever else it's going to take. I like the 18 just fine, and I am pretty sure I have more tire options with the 18 as well. Make no mistake, however, it looks fantastic. Especially on the Cross bikes. @PastorJustin congratulations on getting yours. I'm lovin it.

How has motorcycle steering changed over the years?

 

I've been interested in the idea of a Tweel for a motorcycle. Due to side loading etc it's much more difficult to put one on a bike than on a car, but I think there is some merit to the idea.

There's also advancements in materials for the wheel itself.. carbon fiber and other exotics to make it waaay lighter. I would imagine at some point you'll see electric bikes with a front powered wheel too.
