    Hi All,
I really like the Vision but the wife DOES NOT. She rides her own bike 90% of the time, but does like to ride on the back of my bike occasionally. The wife likes the look of the XC much more than the Vision. Anyway... Which way would you go if you were buying a new bike this spring? XC or Vision? So to all you Vision riders out there... Can you convince me that I'm right (the wife is wrong) and the Vision is the better choice?

I would pull my zipper around to the front and get my Vision.[IMG]

The Vision owners will tell you they are the best and the XCT guys will say they are the best. Go ride them both on the highway and back roads. The one you pick will be the best.

I rode them both and the one I picked was my favorite. Eveyone has different tastes and the only taste that matters is yours. Either way you can't lose, because they are both great.

I definately would take a CCT over a CC though. You can always take the trunk off if you want. You also get better wind management.

    GOOD LUCK!

    That's effing hilarious!

I was going to suggest to the OP that he should exercise his authority as the head of the family and tell his wife, gently but firmly, that her opinion in this case doesn't have any bearing on the decision.

Of course, I could suggest this because my wife is still asleep and would never read this post anyway (I hope) . . .

What the "H" is the big deal about looks???? When used correctly, all I can see when riding is the dash, windsheild, bars and roadway. When I am not using the bike I do not sit around and look at it!!!! I am busy planning the next time out. Most motorcycles look fairly similar from the saddle, after that it is all performance and handling.

I'm a two time CC owner, an original 2010 and now a 2012 CCT. I've also had several thousand miles on a Vision. If distance comfort was my only concern I'd be on the Vision.
Something to do with the geometry of the fixed fairing makes the bike at least feel more stable. The electric windshield is a big plus as well.
For storage I like the CCT. Also looks wise, put them side by side and the styling really isn't all the different(points, tips, angles). With the bolt on fairing, bags the bike is just more 'broken up' giving it a more conventional look.
Since your wife rides her own I'd get what I wanted. The Vision passenger seat is much more comfortable than the CCT. From the saddle you're not looking at the bike anyhow

I love both bikes. In the end I couldn't stomach to lack of storage on the Vision. I purchased a 2012 XCT and the wife and I both love it! The XCT has a passenger backrest built into the tour trunk and has passenger floorboards. Take a look that that model instead of the standard Cross Country.

I told my wife she would be hidden behind all that gear so no one would recognize her, but, even then I can't get her to even sit on a Vision to test ride it. The only drawbacks I see to the Vision are storage and shorter rear suspension travel (it's almost 4 inches so not so much a drawback as it is just shorter than the CCT). It's a no-go regardless if I can't get the wife onboard.

Bill4Vendetta is right. Make sure you get a look at the Cross Country Tour, not just the Cross Country.

I was facing a similar decision when I bought my bike. Most veteran riders will tell you the same thing, "Make it your own". Maybe ask yourself what you might do to each bike over the course of 3 or 4 years and then see what you decide.

Personally, I've never been on a Vision,so Ican't give you a reasonable comparison. Decisions like this one are always tough when you don't have money to burn.Either way, I think you'll end up happy as long asYOU make the decision on YOUR bike.

    Good luck.

    How do you figure that?
His original thread asking us for our opinion was posted just 13 hours ago.
    Your post is a duplicate.
