Xbow exhaust heat shield removal

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum as well as recently purchasing a 2013 hammer. Anyone have a tip on removing these heat shields on the xbows? I know they're not the best pipes, but getting new ones isnt an option at the moment. Do i need to remove the entire exhaust, or is there a way to pull them without? Removing the entire exhaust seems to be quite the pain in the ass. Thanks

look on back side. If its a hose clamp just unscrew it. If there is no screw slot your going to have to cut them off. You have a friend that rides have him look at it

They are held on with hose clamps. Loosen them till they come apart and pull the shields off. The problem is that it is hard to line up the end of the hose clamp with the worm on the clamp when putting them back together. Not too hard to do on the mufflers but next to impossible on the header pipes since you cannot easily reach the clamps to line up the ends of the clamps with the worm.

On the mufflers you have to slide the shields towards the rear a bit since the ends of the shields are a solid round pipe. once you get them past this solid section you can pull them off. As I remember you cannot slide them all the way off.
Thank you. Much appreciated
some time a 1/4 inch drive ratchet with socket can work better then a screwdriver
