Hi gang. Haven't been able to find a rider that weighs the same as me to race my Raider against my Jackpot.
My butt dyno seems to think they are pretty close.
Raider, more torque but 70 Lbs heaver, Jackpot more HP and less weight. Has anyone raced a Raider with their 106.
You know what they say about Butt dynos and mine is old.
Jackpot is really starting to run great with some miles and I think its faster but whats your guess and why.
Will post results when my friend looses 10 Lbs. Planing on 60 to 80 mph roll ons in 5th gear to eleminate rider ability.
No arguments but whats your guess ?

If you are talking 1/4 mile I would guess the raider. Coming from a Stratoliner( same engine as a Raider) to a Cross Country, I would say that the Torque that the Raider has, would be quicker. But running down the highway, probaly the Jackpot. The 1900cc's in the Raider is a torque making machine, but tends to fade faster than the 106. Just my 2 cents

I have been on both and my "butt dyno", as you call it, tells me the Raider will outrun the Jackpot.....unless you are gonna run a fairly long distance, because you will need to let the Victory stretch it's legs.

Great article dsjr, I had seen the vid. but not the write up. Wish they would do one with the 106.
Think you guys hit the nail on the head.
Using the raider as a bar hopper around town and the Vic. for the hi way, love that 6th gear. Anyone have any insite on how they kept the weight down on the Vic. I know the Raider wheels are heaver but the alum. frame on the raider only weighs 37 Lbs. Where else do ya think the weight savings are on the Vic. Getting older and like the lightest bike I can find.
Will be fun if I can get a vid. of this match up. Thanks guys.

In those situations, the Raider's larger engine and higher torque should be an advantage.
Looks like a stock Airbox on the Jackpot, so I would say the Raider will win an out & out drag race too.

Stock Jackpot vs. stock Raider - my money would be on the Raider. However, modifications can work magic!! It just depends on how deep the wallet. Consult w/ Half Crazy & Kevin:
let the Lloydz masters work help your Jackpot see it's potential.

I would say, dollar for dollar with equal amounts put into each the raider will still be ahead... IMHO

If the Vic had a better pipe then the Swept it would be about a dead heat. With the Swept pipe on the Vic it will be all Raider. At a recent bike rally I spun a couple of Raiders with pipes and intakes, and they ran 90/105 to the tire. A Vic 106 with a Stage1 2-1 pipe the same day pulled 86/104. That makes it a riders race. With a set of Swept it's 82/97 on the same dyno.
All that said an 07 with a S&S and a good set of pipes would SPANK them both making 97/103

Yes I see about 10 HP difference on the dyno but don't ya think the 70 Lbs more the raider is carrying would make them almost even?
I understand about the power robbing after market pipes on both bikes ( more so with the raider)
EXUP valve removed)
Also what is the red line cut with the Vic.? I know I hit the limiter on the raider all the time but havn't hit the Vics yet.
Kevin, is there much difference in the in the RPM for the HP and torque peaks. Sorry dumb question, I can look at the graphs.
This is interesting, thank you guys for helping me learn. I think its gona be close, will be disapointed if its not. Fun Fun Fun. So many toys so little time. Jack

I think the weight difference will be more then compensated with the amount of tq produced by the raider at such a low rpm. If I had to bet on a heads up race my money would be on the raider through the 1/8th and the Vic through the 1/4...

Ya know mabey my butt dyno is screwed up from ridding this thing. ( the bike).
Spike would out run a Busa to 60 mph but was just to dam heavy for me to get in and out of the basement, had it down to 735 Lbs.but thats still almost 100 Lbs over the Vic.Was fugly and sounded like an aquarium pump. The new rocket roadster has 156 Ft. Lbs at about 2500.
Sorry for off topic. Just wanted to show my friends photo shop skills. Jack

It really depends on the color.
SKB, kool Im a painter, what color should I use. LOL.
I am going to have my blackJackpot repainted black but with some depth to the paint like pearlessence or glass beads to give it more of a 3D look.
Any suggestions - did you do Spike? It's a great alternative from flames and skulls.

According to what I see on the web, the weight difference is 40 lbs...
Several years ago my friend and I had almost identical bikes. He wanted to race. He weighed 300 and I weighed 190. We raced I won. He said it was because of the weight difference, so I suggested we trade bikes and try again. My bike still won.

Weight, low end torque, high end horsepower, pipes, EXUP valve, airbox.......all I know is that is if you rolled a Raider off the showroom floor and a Jackpot off the showroom floor and I was racing 1/4 mile for a $1000, my a$$ would be on that Raider so quick your head would spin.

.....Now, start messing with all the aftermarket goodies like cams and airboxes, and I would jump the fence to the Victory pretty quick.
