LOL I had a blind date that one of my coworkers set me up with when I first started riding.
Hell I ddin't know squat! I had a V-Star 650 and thought that bike was freaking HUGE!
This guy had a TC. I really didn't take notice because I was such a new rider.
I got rained out on a trip to Santa Cruz and had to pay for my hotel anyhow so drove my truck there(while I had it!) I decided to stop at every bike shop on my way home and take a looky loo at bikes for a future purchase in spring. (I had snow at my house in Truckee at the time being as it was November)
Any how in my search for "Motorcycles" I found the name Arlen Ness. Well ya I've heard of him. Shoot its on my way home~ I'll stop!
Well the rest is history!
I saw MY bike on the turn table the minute I walked in. Then I hear..."You want to test ride one of these bikes?
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
(I've always loved the Indians. I think they are THE classic of classic bikes with those fenders.) The KP HAS FENDERS! and it's BLUE!!
I test rode hell I don't know what and was gripped as gripped can be but did it! (Only been riding for 5 months at this point)
I'm like in LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEE with this Blue 05 KP. It's snowing at my house so say ok hang on....
I go home, go to Reno and Bill at Reno Cycle & Gear lets me take out his KP. I can ride this bike!! But having bought cars in Reno before and then dealing with Calif I'm a tad reluctant AND I WANT THAT BLUE BIKE!
I posted up on Pashnit asking about Victory's I heard nothing but good things.
I started driving home and said HELLS BELLS!
I called Ness & said put a SOLD sticker on that bike! I'll get down there & sign the papers as soon as the weather turns.
I rode my FSHUZ KP home the next week. OMG was I gripped LOL (Sort of like with Skully)
I'm gonna have to dig up the posts for when I picked up my KP. I had a couple of Pashnit friends meet me there and escort me home. Same deal with Skully!!
Dayum I love riding & the peeps that ride!! I have met sooooo many nice people & found so many great spots I never would have seen without 2 wheels.
xoxoBabbleOn
ps~ the blind date guy ended up buying an 06 KP and is now happily married ...to a lovely lady that also rides! I run into them time to time.
