Vinegar Pie A number of years ago, some of us Great Lakes Road Riders (GLRR) folks and Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) folks would take an annual "Guys Ride" from Michigan to the Tennessee and North Carolina border region to ride the routes around there, such as the Tail of the Dragon, the Cheroholla Skyway, and so on. Anyhow, during our departure ride from Michigan to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, which was the location of our hotel "base camp," we would stop at the Clinch Mountain Restaurant and Lodge in Thorn Hill, Tennessee. The Clinch Mountain Restaurant, which was just a small mom and pop restaurant, was known for their vinegar pie, which tastes awesome! Apparently, during the Depression era, lemons were hard to come by, so when people would make lemon pie, they would somehow substitute the lemons with vinegar. Vinegar pie. The annual "Guys Ride." Ripping through the Tail of the Dragon. Cruising the Cheroholla Skyway. VIsiting the Wheels Through Time Motorcycle Museum. Those were the days! Classic Vinegar Pie - Easy Old Fashioned Pie Recipe!
