I am upgrading to the Alpine SPS 510 and no matter what I do I cannot get the original screws to catch. It looks like the mounting bracket of the new speaker is thicker than the stock speaker. Has anyone had this issue? Did you have to replace it with longer screws?

Make sure the speaker is flush against the mounting surface. You may want to check the condition of the screw and that the brass insert in the speaker pod is good. I had to epoxy mine back in.

I had to buy some slightly longer screws.

Yup that did it had to get a slightly longer screw ND that fixed it.....
