Now either the Turtle Wax Ice recommended by one of you elder statesmen (sorry can't remember which) removed the sticker ghost that was left on my center panel under the console, or:
1. The 5-6 different chemicals I used to remove it finally had an effect
(either on thestain, or my last three brain cells)
2. 'RA' the sun-god took pity on me and faded it,because I haven't
thrown an oldsparkplug as a turn signal reminder in 10 yrs.
3. The WD-40 Bubba told me to use has magical powers and only
worked while I was sleeping
4. My eyes were fried from yesterdays 3+ hours riding in the sun and I
couldn't see it(just as good as gone as far as I'm concerned)
Either way the ICE from Turtle wax works.

I think I need to read that again. Slowly & deliberately. Ha!!!
Come on Dawg forgive and forget already.
Of course I'm an overbearing pompous idiot, I work for the guvmint now, and have learned to use words like "Hope & Change" instead of hand outs, corporate welfare, warfare as usual.
It's a tough, no slack site, so I understand if you gotta smack me around a little more before you forgive and forget,,,

Bless you, brudda, for finding the solution. I was about ready to have "my" people go talk to "their" people. Victory should be thanking you right about now . . .

No, no ... no .... no. You misunderstand. I worked all night & just got off. I was reading & couldn't focus ........ I couldn't get the brain engaged. All good - I've downed my 44 oz. triple blaster!!

When I first bought my Vegas one of the "elder statesmen" posted to use WD-40 so I did & It took it right off. Except for a light rainbow effect on the tank when in the sun. I had been asking others about how to remove the rainbow effect when it was pointed out to me it was from the polarization of light passing through my windshield! So WD-40 really does work.

Dealer had my Bike on display for quite sometime including outside in the sun where it could get noticed. The WD-40 (Bubba?) suggested didn't get it off.

Until the day I cleaned the bike one more time and put the Turtle Wax Ice on, it was a nice pale square in my paint, Granted it got lots of chemicals on it and the Turtle wax was on in directly sunlight on a 95 degree day for about 40 minutes,,, so who knows,,,maybe the WD-40 finally had its effect,,

Either way, that's a pretty good wax, but I start every tool box with a hammer, duct tape, flathead-screwd river-chisel-prybar, and a small can of WD-40,,,,,son of a steelworker, what are gonna do?

Hmmmmm ...... there's gotta be a chemical solution. Damnit - we can put a man on the moon!!!!
Ohhhh, there's a chemical solution alright! Green Printer's ink and cotton fiber paper $$$$$$$$ for a new panel

Or $$ for a Victory emblem to stick on,,,,,

Maybe I'll do the console and that panel in Carbon Fiber like Di-Noc

Actually, I used to make my own hand balm (left over from when we rock climbed), and probably still have Tea-Tree Oil as well as Sandalwood and Eucaluptus.

After I try it, I'll let you know. Thanks.

So what about the black Turtle Wax ? I have no ghost square on mine, granted it hasn't been in the sun-torture test you descibe, but my sticker wasn't removed until the bike was over a year old.

I like the black wax because it leaves no white edges and hides scratches very well. I've also used it on a dark blue bike to deepen the color.

ICE & SKYE? Ya thats a VOG thing

You talking bout washing my bike???
LOL!!! Weeeelllllllll, it's a little too late for me to start being submissive at this point, but thanks for the thought. I have absolutely no doubt you could find you a boytoy to do it for you if you really wanted.

Plus, since I do not wash my little redheads car, she may do something truly horrible to me for washing your bike.

The clear that Victory uses is way to soft. the chemical from the back of the sticker imbeads into the clear. Thats why you have that faint ghost print, only sometimes in the right light.
Only answer.... repaint. Sad but true. Wish Victory would use something different for clear on their black bikes.

Try Turtle wax scratch remover, you will be suprised by what it can do, just follow the directions. It removed scratches that I didnt think possiable from this type of product. best money I spent all year! I know yours isnt a scratch but......should work anyway.

Mike, you obviously know paint better than I do, but I just figured the soft nature of their paint was due to the flexibility of the ABS they are putting it on???? Now if all this plastic was sheet aluminum!!!man you could put some glass like clear on it, but it would sound like a bucket of bolts rattling down the road.

Course I could be wrong and they just went 10% cheaper with the clear than they should have,,,,,

I'll pick some up and try it! Thanks, Like Mike said, this thing does seem to pick up scratches very easy.
