I didn't want to jack the other thread @IM12STPN so I'm creating this.

I have a 2010 F150 Platinum 4x4. I'm currently running a 33x12.50 but wanted to move up to a 35. To do this I needed a leveling kit on the front. Then since I'm doing it I thought I would add a leaf to the rear that not only gives me a little boost but also increases my towing capability. These two things with the 35s should give me 4 inches of lift which should still let me park in my garage. I measured today and have a tad over 6 inches to work with.

The winch I'm adding because....well why not? I'm planning on keeping this truck a long time and being it only has 26.5K miles on it that should be easy to do. I think a winch will really improve my confidence in where I can go alone.

I'm going with a hidden winch mount from Rough Country. I think it looks clean. Plus it will not make my nose longer and keep the sun, dirt, and rain off of it.

I have plenty of ideas for my truck. BUT, after all the health problems I've had since last Sept, sciatic nerve then little crash, I've got extra money I'm going to use for a few bike trips with wife. First will be end of August, doing loop around Lake Superior. Check out: www.ridelakesuperior.com looks like nice ride. Thinking a nice leisurely 7-10 days.:devil3:

NOTE: Ok VIC NO bitching when gas mileage takes a puke....you know, like ones the ***** after cams, ecu tune, exhaust etc do

WAIT!!! Are you saying the bigger tires wont improve my gas mileage!?! I thought the bigger tires would roll farther per turn and therefor increase it.

    HAHA!!!

I'm not real worried about it. Ive had 35 before. I have a 36 gallon tank and obviously hardly ever drive it. Honestly the tires Im taking off are not even worn and Ive had them on two trucks. Im only changing them because they are getting up there in tire years being 8 years old. Ive been trying to wait until I wear them out to do all this but I don't think that day will ever come so I decided to do it now and sell my current tires to somebody wanting to put them on a toy or ranch truck. They are still great tires and have always been garaged.

Also one thing to think about. Your gearing gets weaker with taller tiires. Towing capacity will go down.

Yep. I didn't mean I thought I could pull more. I don't pull anything heavy. Really only my 18ft bass boat and occasionally a small trailer....rarely. I just meant it would do it with less bounce in back or sag with what I do pull.

NOT that I don't wanna ride, but now doing more trailering, to destinations so more days riding where I want to be. Plus can take more in truck/trailer when longer trip. First one was for 1 1/2 months in Florida a couple years ago. Planned same for last winter, but sciatic nerve problem cancelled that. Planning going down again next winter Feb/Mar. KEVINX was super when down there, let me park truck/trailer at his house.
NOTE: That trip left here to Myrtle Beach in my 2013 Avalanche and while there trans went out, new one, under warranty. Left there and on to Florida, only drove around to a few places then to KEVINX's. Came back to Michigan and next morning truck wouldn't move, another new trans replaced. So much metal in system they replaced trans, all lines AND radiator/trans cooler. 2 weeks later thought that was last problem I'd have...bought 2017 GMC 2500HD 3/4 ton with the bigger motor. Love it, 16-17mpg @78mph...well till mountains when went down to ride with MOUNTAINRIDER...12 :doubt:

I've only had one "built" truck. It was a 1984 Toyota pickup (before they were Tacomas). I didn't build it, I bought it in 1990. Had a 4" lift and hot pink accents everywhere (was fresh out of the 80's, so it gets a pass :D ). Had 29" Mickey Thompson tires on it so it looked like a roller skate.

I put on 33" Kelly AWRs and drove it for 2 years until I wrapped it around a tree.

This pic is the night I picked it up.

My first truck (And to date, my all-time favorite).jpg

85 Chevy 1500, I added a leaf spring and did a four-inch body left, was a great snow plow truck.
