Saint George, the patron saint of Armor, Cavalry, soldiers, and our great ally across the pond - England. In myth, Saint George, a Roman soldier, slayed a dragon in order to save a princess from sacrifice. Known to be a cavalryman and knight, he soon became a pillar in that community. The Order of Saint George is the oldest and most noble of all British Knighthoods and it is common to see the flag of Saint George - a red cross on a white flag - flying even today. The tradition of Saint George follows far beyond Britain, and today, even in America's cavalry units, the most noble and accomplished of soldiers are "knighted" and brought into the Order of Saint George.
