I know officers that are being taken off the streets to sit in front of a place holding Haitians. One less unit in the beat to babysit illegals. So they're already short and then lose a unit each day for that.

That's just more of my real world knowledge.

So a cop with 5-15 years into his pension with some rank or seniority meaning salary should quit and go get 5k then start over as a 1 day patrol officer. Then work on a 20 year pension when he is now 35 or 40 years old. All because of a vaccine shot. Leave all his ties, extended family and friends and then if vested have to wait until his maximum retirement age to collect. Oh, and take his employed wife or husband who has to quit their job and look for a new one then relocate the kids from school. All while moving to a state that has a median income 10% less than the national average with houses being in the top half of expensive in the country.

Yeah, that would be really smart. Or are you figuring that they will give you credit toward pension for your previous experience and your old rank. Keep dreaming. Great idea!

I think the Houston Chief went someplace, didn't seem to work out. Oh yeah! Chief Art Acevedo made it two months in Miami. Yeah, go to Florida, leave everything behind and get fired. Over a shot!

No, they're not going anywhere. They just want to jump up and down whining like a three year old crying "nobody tells me what to do". If they're that stupid, good riddance!

It makes me wonder if the Fl. Gov. is doing this why Florida has a shortage of police that they have to pay 5k from the State budget to help 100s of departments get qualified officers. Why doesn't Florida have qualified applicants?

Because Florida has had more police officers die of Covid than any other state. Florida is a dangerous place to work if you are a police officer.

The heroics you see on television is just entertainment.
You never really know if a policeman really will lay down his life to save others until he is tested. For these folks, we know.
I can't believe somebody will take a bullet for me if we won't take a needle.
These are "False Flag" Cops. They wear the uniform, but when the going gets tough, they wimp out.
I agree. The sooner these losers get out of the field, the safer we will all be.

This is where you separate the real public servants from the posers. @Flyboy has been posting a steady stream of excuses for not getting vaccinated. Real heroes have no time for excuses. They do what is necessary to protect the people they serve even if the risk is uncertain, or worse, bad. What are the health risks of running into a burning building? or a gunfight?

I guess it is a lot less if you stay outside and argue about whether or not your protective gear is safe.

Vaccine efficacy is shifting because the virus is able to mutate, in unvaccinated people. That is basic Epidemiology 101. The narrative is shifting because the efficacy is shifting. That is why everyone wants Republicans to get vaccinated as well. Because we don't want to have to take boosters every 6 months for the rest of our lives.

A short history of conservative trolling

》 They used to be call this sort of thing “baiting”; and in online forums, “baiting” eventually became “trolling,” from the maritime practice of dragging a lure from a moving boat to snag unsuspecting fish, as well as the irritating trolls in folklore who make travelers’ lives difficult. One enterprising Wikipedian found the word used in its modern metaphorical sense in 1972 among Navy fighter pilots, referring to the use of decoys to draw fire away from themselves. That fits: In its political iteration, the decoy is the illusion of sincerity — forcing the enemy to frantically fire away at a threat that actually is not real, while the troller stands far from the line of fire, pointing and laughing.《

This article was a great read and made me think for this forgotten little dusty corner of the web.
