So I just bought a 2013 Victory Vegas 8-Ball. I bought it from outside my province and it requires an inspection. I had it today and I failed. The person who had the bike before me put a side licence plate holder on the bike removed the licence plate light, and installed a small rear fender led strip for the signals.

l'm 3d printing a bracket to rebuild the rear end of the bike so I can get it to pass inspection before I have to go back to work. I went to Canadian Tire and grabbed some DOT marker lights, a licence plate light and some side reflectors. I have no issue with the wiring, as I'm an electronics tech by trade.

The question I do have is, when I have my lights wired up they blink faster than when the 4-way flashers are on. I Can't find a video anywhere with the OEM lights blinking. Should the signal lights blink faster or should they blink at the same rate as when they 4-ways are on.

I'm hoping the fast blink is normal, I really don't want to have to track down and wire in
resistors.

PS: for anyone interested I posted a picture of the prototype that I designed up today. The flat parts on the side are for the reflectors that I found, the round section for 2" marker lights, and the middle hexagonal slot is for the licence plate lamp. I'm test printing this much so far, But I still have to add on a bracket for the final print. If anyone is interested I'll post some pictures of the final product in the forums and link it here.

Sounds like "hyper flash" from using LED signals with an incandescent flasher relay. There are flasher relays available that are designed for LED signals that will correct that. They install in place of your current relay.

Pretty cool that you can design and 3D print your own parts!

So I did need a load resistor that fixed the hyper blink. 6ohm 50w did the trick.

Oh and for those of you interested in my 3d printing I'm currently in the process of doing the final print. It's going to take 22 hours. Then I have to do some light sanding, priming, painting, wiring, and mounting. I will take some progress pictures along the way for you folks.

I think you have done a good job and the wiring is very neat but for me I think side indicators would suit the bike better .

Was that your stock plate mount cut down? Look good, really clean.
Yes , I cut it down gradually to get the best look . As you say I wanted it to not look cluttered and to show off the wheel . I like the led wrap around but dont think its worth shelling out the extra money for it .

I built this just to pass the inspection. I'll probably change it all later! I actually just bought those exate signals off Amazon.
You have done a great job , Those printers are fantastic .

Not exactly the same mine are mini leds . Be aware you may need to change your relay to a led one if you change all of your blinkers or use resisters in between each blinker . The relay is unique to victory and expensive . I bought the relay cos I didnt want to fit the resisters as they get hot .

Mine are also mini LED(pic attached). And honestly I like the hyper blink.. faster blinking =more visible. Although I had to put a load resistor in on my current project to pass inspection.
