My mom has a Spyder. I do have to say it's fun to drive. It's like driving a 4-wheeler. From what I understand they can handle the twisties pretty well but I scared myself going around a corner too fast (don't tell my mom lol). She loves driving it. She is not that great on two wheels hahaha.

When we were younger with dirt bikes she hopped on one and drove straight into the side of her own truck and broke her wrist. A few years later my Dad got her one of those fast mopeds that Yamaha makes and drove off into a ditch but no damage to her or the bike.

Now she has 3 wheels and I rode on the back with her drive after me having a few beers lol.
Fantastic for your Mom. I know if the day comes ( hopefully a long time away ) that I can not handle 2 wheels, I will be on three. And for me the Can Am is the best bet. Heck I would not mind having one now as a 3rd bike, the F3 limited. Definitely much better cornering than normal trike. I see lots of them around here is SW, Ohio and often driven by women.

The 3 wheelers are going to be the next big ticket as we old timer bikers start to wear out. I’ve had my thoughts on a V8 chopper. Just waiting for someone to sell a garage queen for 1/2 the original sticker ……ouch. Anyway they are pure bad ass and on that ride I don’t really need handling for the twisties in Florida. I need flat out straight line performance to fuk back with those pesky Hell Cats. Lol

I love the V8 choppers way better looking than those Boss Hogs. If I ever become rich or win the lotto I'll be getting a V8 chopper.

They have a better transmission too with a cool shifter in between the tank halves. Give me a simple V8 small block chevy with 400 hp and I'll be just fine. Don't need no 600 hp big block in that ride.

Ahhh yes, brings back (not so fond memories) early 70's HD Sporster made by the bowling ball folks that my cousin rarely rode: I put more miles on it then he did...guess I was cool, guess I'll just have to stick with my 16' Vegas 8-Ball, got that Sporster look ya know.
I had two of the AMF bikes an 73 Superglide and a 79 Sportster and both were good bikes Although the Superglide was my Fav... Was trying to save up for a Wide-Glide and got a naked Goldwing instead to hold me over. That proved an awesome and I rode it for twenty years...

I got a buddy that is all about Harley. However, to this date he will tell me how badass my Vic is. Talk about how it will out run/ride his road glide all day long. He has ridden my CC a few times and loves it but it ain't a Harley.

To each their own in my opinion. If you want to buy based off of name that's on you.

I was gonna buy a Yahama until I treat drove my first CC and couldn't live without it. To this date I haven't ridden another bike that would make change my mind. A vision might but haven't ridden one for that reason lol.
I was well, after the Test drive. Being it had only one mile on it when I tested it, I returned from the ride, bought it and had it shipped Home... Damn Salesman knew it, even after being warned I hadn't ridden in a decade. It was just the best handling Cruiser I had ever ridden to that date. Plus I was tired of all the Harley hype on a Bike that at the time looked to me, the same as the ones I rode in the 70's -80's...

Victory got HD to step up their game and they look much better now, But...

I don't really think of my Spyder as a motorcycle except the part about sitting on a saddle using motorcycle style handlebars. And the Federal Govt declaring it to be a motorcycle. If a person thinks of a Spyder as a motorcycle, they will most likely crash. No counter steering on a Spyder. You steer right (push and pull the bars) to go right. A different mindset. But I like it and my "real motorcycles". Reminds me of one of my favorite Navy toasts: "To ourselves, as no one else is likely to be concerned with our welfare."
Test drove one of those with a madman as the escort as it was my first time on one and after 100+ blast down the Interstate into some twisties on back-roads, I thought I was going to kill myself trying to keep up. The first deep curve was an eye-opener and all my instincts were screaming counter, counter, but the stability control kept her level and what a work-out...

I will stick with the Bike, even if I have to my legs down...

My next Mustang 91 LX coupe was the runner. 12.40 1/4 miles with a little NOS help made that car fun to drive. With 3:08 gears and a 125 hp shot of Nitrous it was a hoot on the highway pulling away from Porsche's. Never forget the time I pulled a 911 turbo (big whale tail ) from 60 to 120. I ran out of gear and probably out of motor while he just kept going. Wow he was fast.
What now you bashing my Whale Tail 964? Yeah, but it ain't a twin turbo and those things are called Widow Makers for a reason. "Never Lift" or the Whale Tail will find the tree first...

You know their is a mod for the front-end and not sure they would do it for a Vic, but:

No sir I would never bash your wife's 964. It was a 911 Turbo and I'm thinking a TwinTurbo. Back when the speed limit was 55 mph I was locked in at 55 mph as I was passing an on-ramp with a black 911/whale tail Porsche entering I-95 He saw me coming or maybe he didn't I don't know but you could see him clearly downshift from the action of the car. I just so happened to have my bottle on and full of nitrous oxide. That little mustang had 308 gears and a K & N filter with a set of Dynomax mufflers only. With the rear end differential I was able to downshift to third gear and it was on. We were both side-by-side as his turbos were spooling up my nitrous was spot on and I started to pull him. Into fourth gear I went approaching 120 on the clock and that was all she wrote. Going into fifth gear would have done nothing but slow me down LOL. That's when the Porsche ran by me at that speed like I was sitting still! That Pull I made never would've happened later when I put 373 gears into that car. Sure they were great from a standing launch through the quarter-mile
But on the highway it left me with nothing to play with. Those were fun times and incidentally that was the second Porsche I beat in that manner in that year. The other was a more luxurious type and did not have dark tinted windows to see the expression on the driveers face Like the black 911 had.

What great stories... Now a question!

How do you know my wife? Much less anything about the tail on her car (mine now I bought it from her, I think)... The car.

@Flyboy i saw that on a indian about 2 yrs back. And I liked it I'd go that route myself before a trike. Don't know how many years I have left on 2. But ! I try to stay in good shape for that reason. I'm gonna stay on 2 as long as I can and hopefully knowing when it's time to say I give.

Exactly. It's a terrible way for people to live their lives on both ends of the rope.

here's a story ……. Back in 89 I bought a 5.0 lx coupe mustang 5speed. It was fun and the best bang for the buck I've ever owned even to date. One night I was at an ATM. All alone until a guy around my age (30's) pulled in driving a new corvette. While I was pulling some cash for my Saturday night festivities he stood back waiting and when I turned around he says to me ….. " how's it feel to drive a slo- stang ?
I kept my cool and just walked away thinking to my self how proud I was owning my first brand new car and it being that mustang. So I waited for him to come down to his car and I said " hey ….. wanna find out how slow this stang is ? …… you may want to go back up there and get some more money out of that ATM. "
He declined the offer with some lame excuse that he was late to pick up his girl and I just laughed and said … "yep … thought so". Leaving a nice little burn out as I exited the parking lot.

Fact was I probably couldn't beat him but my 89 was what was called a factory freak. All stock on Goodyear gator backs it ran 13:80 in the 1/4 mile. Consistent 13:90 with a best of 13:80. The car was a quick made on Wednesday car. My 2 bosses at the time had 89 convertible corvettes that couldn't get by me thus the reason I wasn't afraid to take on the ASSHAT spoiled rich kid that felt the need to insult me and my car. Didn't care if I would have lost. Just loved putting on my poker face and slinging some sh!t in his face and as I thought he was just a pussy.
Today I just ignore but I make sure that what I have that's being insulted is worth defending and a Victory motorcycle is just that.
If I recall correctly those little 302's surprised a lot of folks at the stoplight and seemed to be able to take a real **** kickin without getting hurt . Very popular in my neck of the woods. 13:80 is quite respectable and at the time were known to be as you say " best bang for the buck."

I ordered the car from a Ft Meyers Florida Ford dealership. Black with red stripe around the car and tan vinyl interior. It was an LX interior only choice. Looked like leather and really set the car apart from any other offering I seen except for the automatic model which was the same car on the showroom floor. I wanted a stick so in 88 I ordered it as an early 89 model 5 speed. First year of the mass airflow sensor and last year of the small no airbag steering wheel. To many in the know at the Ford dealership they say the car was a factory freak with those time slips on gator backs. I loved it but unfortunately I watched it burn to the ground on my buddys driveway 2 years later. I left it idling while passed out in it and awoke to flames bellowing out of the hood. My buddy opened the door and drug my drunk ass out of the car. Long story but that demise led me to my next mustang….the 91 LX 5 speed that got the treatment enabling it to run 12.6 consistent with a best cold night run of 12.49. These cars were bought brand new for $12,600 (89) and $15300 (91). I was making back then the same money I'm making now and it blows me away at how these young guys can afford a $40k plus mustang or Camaro or Challenger / Charger. My rent was $600 for a 3 bed 2 bath pool home …..today it's 1800 in Florida as an avaerage for a crap apartment. Groceries $75a week. Electric $80. Those were the days.

I've been trying to figure out how people have a roof over their head and a brand new vehicle. I can only assume huge amounts of debt strung out for years.

I would have a hotrod if it was under 20K but that's not the case.

It's crazy, I know some with 1 moderate income, 2 new cars & one person only drives the kids to school or to the grocery store once a week, they & their kids always wearing new name brand clothes / shoes, all the family members ( even the 5 yr old kids ) have an new iphone / galaxy. Debt ain't wealth & can only go so long living off of credit before it's time to pay up. Everyone likes to have "nice stuff" but it doesn't have to be new for it to be nice & news only new for a very short time. I like my very nice gently used stuff for 1/2 price but luckily my cheapassery & frugalness was beaten into me from a very young age.

My mother toward the end of her life had an estate worth just a few dollars short of one million$'s, most of it in cash in various places. My brother and I repeatedly to get her to take trips, cruises or anything she might enjoy. She was healthy enough , but always protested that her friends that might go with her couldn't afford it. We told her to pay their way. 5 to 10 thousand $$'s once a year for two or three years wouldn't have put a dent in her economy. But she just refused. That's how I was raised. Even if you got it, don't spend it.
