i went with the lid rails to fight the scuffing but I'm curious to see what kind of responses you get.

Well I installed the Clear Scuff Pads on my sidecovers and they turned out great and you can hardly tell they are there. I installed the pads on my saddlebags and I had a battle with them.I finally got them installed and getting the air bubbles out from under them isvirtually impossible.I thought if i posted this topic I could find out if anyone else had luck installing theirs.
