I have a 2004 victory Vegas, It has a stroker kit and a big bore kit. I am not sure what size as I bought the bike with the kits already installed. The ECU had been flashed from the shop for the mods but it did have the usual exhaust popping when I bought it so I installed a power commander 3 USB to add a little fuel. I had it adjusted and eliminated all of the back firing. I have rode the bike for a few years now with no popping. The bike ran flawlessly. I have put about 10,000 miles on it. Recently, it slowly started to run rough and started to pop and back fire and then the fuel pump went out. My son and I have replaced the pump and now we are able to start the bike again. The little rubber tube on the outlet of the pump that inserts into the the pump frame was almost completely eaten away by age so we replaced it while we installed the new pump. The bike now starts up and it will idle good for about a minute then it will start to pop and backfire through the exhaust. If we raise the RPMs the popping get worst with occasional loud pops. The backfiring continues even if the RPMs are held so it is not an acceleration or deceleration issue. So far we have changed the spark plugs, checked the spark, cleaned the air filter and throttle body, cleaned the tank out and used fresh gas and installed a new battery. We are at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
