T5 use to carry the MA2 rating. The additive package changed with the new Diesel oil regulations that came out a couple of years ago and the MA2 disappeared from the T-5 containers.

The reason I posted the chart showing the moly content but I didn’t want to start an oil argument with Rotella users. Imo the 15/40 full synthetic is the best choice if your going to use Rotella but then again the theory that many have using full synthetic is still an argument. Tough one but imo I would steer clear from anything without a Jaso Ma Ma2 certification.

OK I'll chime in because I just started using T5. So far so good but only have a couple hundred miles on it. I swear my clutch grabs harder now than with the Vic oil! I've read tests recently where the T6 doesn't hold up well in the Shear test for some reason which is a bad thing with our trans. The T4 does much better in the Shear test. The T5 is said to be very similar to the T4, just a little full synthetic added. That's all I've got for now.

Ahhhh but bikendad’s riding an 10 so different trans, same clutch Idk? I’m gonna stick 2 mixing the 4 & 6 but I may change the ratio, great results after 7500 miles ( no, not 1 oil change )

So here is a thought on sheer oil tests that people will compare that gears break down oil more. In commercial industrial Diesel engines and over the road Diesel engines, almost all the accessories are driven by gears. Cams, water pumps, oil pumps, air compressors, high pressure injection pumps, power take offs and others. All theses items are within the engines oil system. Just like your transmission in your Victory.
All those engines use diesel oil. So please convince me that Diesel engine oil will harm my engine. Please be the data daddy with facts.

Water cooled Diesel engine vs Air cooled hard ridden V twin shared oil with a gear driven transmission. IDK maybe there’s not much difference.......IMO Rotella is great oil but they never really developed their product to consider
and battle motorcycles ? Did thy ? Vic’s are just that good.

    My
My guess hard ridden would not compare to pulling 80k up the grapevine in 100 degree temps. Battle ridden bike only puts load on for seconds at a time would be my guess. Nothing like 40lbs of boost for 20 minutes straight.

We keep leaving out the liquid cooled part.
The freedom motors being air cooled need the best oil don’t they ? Why settle when there’s so many good choices. Rotella T5 is not one of them imo especially with out the proper tested classification. The chart I posted shows exactly why. Use what you like. It’s all good with me. I just like to share because there are folks out there that seriously don’t have a clue as to what they should and can run in their Vic’s.

I remember many years ago the "myth" of mixing regular gas with premium gas gave you an octane boost that was higher than premium! I would smile at that and let them go about "mixing" at the station knowing full well they were wasting their time. Some of these "witches brews" are humorous. Leg of spider, pinch of caterpillar, spoon of honey, watch me as I waste my money!

Ran Rotella in my Valks and Vics. Switched to Spectro and like how it runs in my Vics a lot better than Rotella. Spectro is worth the extra cost to me.

Ok ok ok. I just ordered a 6 pack of Golden Spectro 4 semi synthetic 20w40 1L from Amazon. It’s currently out of stock but will hopefully get here in time for my next oil & filter (K&N) change.

All I get is stickers. A T shirt and a patch. I’m an honorary member and did you know Spectro is based on my home town Brookfield Ct ? Been using their oils my whole life. When it came to motorcycles back home there was no other brand to buy. We used Spectro and that was it.
