I just learned that @firstvictory has passed away from a heart attack. His son posted on his Facebook. I never met him but I always enjoyed our conversations and his humor. He will be missed.
Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.
I'm trying to think of what to say but I'm at a lose. I'm shocked. He was a big part of making this place fun and seemed like a fun person. Just wow. You just never know when it's your time.
I didn't even know how to let you guys know. I just sat here trying to think what to say. I just knew I'd get to ride with him one day down in Miami. And finally get to see his BBC (everyone who knew him should get that joke). I regret not getting to meet him. Sure seemed like a hell of a guy.
@CPT PYRO I know. When my mother in law died I was trying to figure out how to tell her the entire time waiting for her to drive home. It was horrible. In the end you just have to come out with it. I hate giving/getting news like this but truly appreciate you doing it.
@broggyr can you please place this in the In Memoriam forum.
He was always a great laugh. Posted great stuff. I'm kind of shocked. God bless. R.I.P. @firstvictory , you will be missed. Prayers for him and his family. I am truly saddened.
Amen. Use this as an opportunity to re-evaluate your relationship to God. Two people on a motorcycle were killed last week at a spot that I frequently ride past. Read the Gospels....read the epistles written by Paul...and turn your life over to Christ if it isn't already.
WE met him in Miami on the 24th and stayed at a Holiday Inn he arranged for us..$50. Next day, after work, came down and stayed in a houseboat where we were, wanted his own, went out to dinner that night. I KNOW how to keep someone that I owe a favor, or just want to do, from paying a bill...tell waitress, away from table, I want the bill AND I TIP GOOD...works every time:icon_thumleft: (He tried to argue..I won). The next day he took us on a ride back up to the Everglades, nice loop. He said he wanted to meet us next time we went to Murphy, NC, where we go 3 times a year for past 10 years, and play in the Smokies. He was looking forward to meeting the FAMOUS MOUNTAINRIDER. Tried contacting him, I wondered why he hadn't answered my PM, was going to call him today..told me he was like me, don't need to much notice in advance to RIDE! He was another great VOG member I've met...AND hope to meet more. (he's the grey hair young man in pic, others are my wife, Patty, and riding buddy Jeff)
All 3 of us have goose bumps, he'll surely be missed!!
Praying for acceptance for family and friends:cool018:
only knew him on this site, but really enjoyed his posts, and always got a smile when he would mention his BBC. Especially when a newbie who didn’t know what he was talking about would question it.
Never met the man. Reading his post sounds like he LIVED life. When I commented on my wife's HD (Huntingtons Disease) he was familiar with it as he knew somebody who suffered with it and offered me some support. RIP Greg
