A group of us, headed up by our own BellesAZ and her husband John, took a 400 mile road trip today. The trip started out this morning at 8:00 and headed up the Salt River Canyon up to Show Low, with a small side trip to Fort Apache.....which turned out to be a little more "off-road" than any of us had anticipated.
We were blessed with an unseasonably cool weekend here in Arizona where temps in the Valley of the sun only reached the high 80's. We started out in the low 70's and as we climbed up along the wall of the canyon, the temps steadily dropped into the high 60's. The views were unbelievable and the road was a riders dream where we could open the bikes up on some fantastic sweeping turns that in some cases were 170-180 degree bends. As we left from lunch the winds picked up which made for some very technical riding through the canyon.
Below are some of my pics from the trip.
