I just got an 05 kingpin and I started to do some maintenance stuff and in order to check the drive sprocket I need to remove the mufflers and I cant seem to get them off. Any ideas? do I need to remove the oil cooler? And also what would happen if I just left the mufflers off? WouldI have to do anything else? Would it be dangerous to the engine? Thanks any input would be great this is my first street bike and I'm a little lost.

You mean the headers? The mufflers are further back but will need to come off with the headers.

Sounds like you may have the V&H full set performance pipe, and they are a bastard to get off, and on. Can you post a picture of the bike?

yeah it is the headers. the rear is two peice but the front is welded to the second peice on the rear
