I can see as my first winter on the Vog that this site is showing signs of Canadianizing as us Canucks have little else to do but wait for a Floridian to stop riding long enough to post something about a motorcycle.

It is a very long cold winter for mostof us, especially when the squaw is out hunting for dinner.
The few lucky onescalled Q-tips are driving their Cadillacsin Florida causing hazardous roadconditionsfor Floridians ridingVics.
Q-Tips are the Quebec Province want'a be frenchie's
Snow-Cones are the rest of the white-haired road hazards in Florida.
Can't we be ugly Americans and still be discerning??????????

Newfoundland declares war on the U.S.A.

PresidentBarack Obamawas in the Oval Office when his telephone rang.

"Hallo, PresidentObama" a heavily accented voice said. "This is Archie, up ere at the Harp Seal Pub in Badger's Cove , Newfoundland , Canada , Eh? I am callin' to tells ya dat weis officially declaring war on ya!"

"Well Archie,"Barack replied, "This is indeed important news !
How big is your army?"

"Right now," said Archie, after a moments calculation "there is myself, me cousin Harold , me next-door-neighbor Mick, and the whole dart team from the pub. That makes eight!"

Barack paused. "I must tell you Archie that I have one million men in my army waiting to move on my command."

"Wow," said Archie. "I'll have at call ya back!"

Sure enough, the next day, Archie called again. "Mr. Obama, the war is still on!We have managed to acquire some infantry equipment!"

"And what equipment would that be Archie?"Barack asked.

"Well sir, we have two combines, a bulldozer, and Harry's farm tractor."

PresidentObama sighed. "I must tell you Archie, that I have 16,000 tanks and 14,000 armored personnel carriers. Also I've increased my army to one and a half million since we last spoke."

"Lord above", said Archie, "I'll be getting back to ya."

Sure enough, Archie rang again the next day.. " PresidentObama , the war is still on! We have managed to git ourselves airborne! We up an' modified Harrigan's ultra-light wit a couple of shotguns in the cockpit, and four boys from the Legion have joined us as well!"

Barack was silent for a minute then cleared his throat. "I must tell you Archie that I have 10,000 bombers and 20,000 fighter planes. My military complex is surrounded by laser-guided, surface-to-air missile sites. And since we last spoke, I've increased my army to TWO MILLION!"

"Jumpins," said Archie, "l'll have at call youse back."

Sure enough, Archie called again the next day. " PresidentObama ! I am sorry to have to tell you dat we have had to call off dis 'ere war."

"I'm sorry to hear that" saidBarack . "Why the sudden change of heart?"

Well, sir," said Archie, "we've all sat ourselves down and had a long chat over a bunch of pints, and come to realize dat dere's no way we can feed two million prisoners.."

It is wonderful having such a great neighbour where we enjoy virtually unprotected borders (although Al Qaeda has altered that image somewhat), share a common language, resources & product openly through free trade, respect each other nationally, fight side by side in major world conflicts and never discuss Canada prevailing over the USA in our only hostilities, the war of 1812.

America, we love you !!!!

You know, I read that comment with interest also. Just yesterday I sewed on a memorial patch for PO2 Craig Douglas Blake, KIA May3rd 2010, my sonin laws buddy kuilled 7feet in front of him. We may be small but we are mighty and many have felt the wrath of the Canadian soldier. History shows us what we can do and have done. Too many of our soldiers have fallen from both our countries in this conflict that can;t be won. I worked side by side Americans, Brits and Danes over the years I served. One cause for all...Freedom!

Funny Andy...

Truth is that IS about the size of your military.

Don't get me wrong, I like our neighbors up north.. Many friends and associates I will never forget living there. Quote ends
I also appreciate the United States of America as great neighbours and friends.

For bikeriderga; For your edification I have provided a website of the 160 Canadian men and women who died serving their country fighting in Afghanistan. http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/afghanistan/casualties/list.html
