Politics 2.0

399041 17675
It was asked that we have a fresh start on politics and I thought it was a great idea. To start though I want to reiterate the goal is to remain free of name calling and personal attacks. I know we can do it.

So I will again say,

I want to be able to discuss anything and everything and have never felt the VOG should be just motorcycles. We are a motorcycle community sure, and being such we are a family with a common interest.... But not that sole interest. With that I do not believe we should only be allowed to talk bikes. Goodness, half our active members are about to park their bikes. What do they talk about? Bike covers? Boring!

So some of these other interests will be other shared like minded things and some not. I think we should be able to discuss whatever we want as a family no matter if we agree or disagree in a civilized manner.

Remember nobody is forced to participate or view threads they don't like. If you don't like a topic do not venture into the middle of it.

So with that if y'all want to continue in that way I need EVERYONE'S help.

  • Stop the name calling.
  • Stop being rude.
  • No more references to sex acts with oneself or others.

I don't mean jokes and sarcasm. Not even dark humor. It's the mean name calling and overall rude behavior that we need to stop. No more personal attacks. That would make a huge difference and if we can do it give nobody a reason to shut anything down in the future.

I don't mind putting in the work here as I was here anyway, but it's certainly added to my plate. I'm happy to though because I enjoy this place. I think we can accomplish this but those that can't will be warned, then given a temporary ban, with a temporary or indefinite ban to follow.

Doesn't bother me either way. I don't like mandates but if it was presented to me I'd accept it and not whine like a three year old. I'd either take the shot or look for other employment. Personally, I think the vaccine is better than nothing and will continue to get even better so I take it. I dont tell others if they should or shouldn't take it unless they ask my opinion. Then I tell them I would and why.

But even though I don't have nothing you still think I should get the shot or loose my job. It just makes no sense.
Mandates hopefully are coming from duly elected politicians that use health professionals advice and the will of the majority of their constituents. Whomever dosen't like it always has the opotion of trying to become the majority and change their representatives. The majority of our population support the vaccine and mandates if necessary.

Really? Did they ask you? They didn't ask me. Who did they ask? Where did they ask?

Polls can tell whatever part of the truth you desire with the right polling pool being used.

What if the government mandates people be healthy and charge those with high BMIs? It's a health issue that would prevent hospitalization for many like I've seen mentioned so many times for people with covid. So why not? It's for your health? How bout if you have a high BMI you are forced to eat only salad until you are a healthy weight? When are we going to mandate a ban on smoking?

People being overweight and smoking is hurting them much more than I ever will not being vaxed.

I don't see how you can be for one part of health for the greater good and not be for health in everything.
You have a valid argument if all you care about is yourself. All the things you mentioned will only effect the health of an individual. A look back through history will show pandemics that killed over half of the population. Science and common sense has come a long way since those days where many of those diseases aren't even on the radar anymore. If nothing was done about covid and we just depended on herd immunity to get through it how many people is acceptable as a loss? The elderly the ones with compromised imunes the few totally healthy that for some reason it hits hard, ya screw em, toughen up man!
I am all about personal responsibility of things that an individual can control though. Ruin your liver drinking, lungs smoking, obesity related issues, brain by not wearing a helmet, etc etc, then yes, pay more for healthcare insurance to take care of yourself.

Tens of thousands are losing their jobs as we speak because of illegal mandates and it isn't alright and never was.
Good thing that in this economy they will be able to find a job easily. Construction, food industry, etc. etc. are in sore need of help. Be prepared to work hard for less pay and benefits though.

So you want her to get the shot to "save a few", but don't mind her dieing from it because of things outside of our control?
Nobody is suggesting for your wife to get the shot if she has health issues that would make it risky. Does she have a job that is mandating it? Im sure with a valid doctor's excuse the requirements would be lifted. I believe the requirement for the shots are lifted for everyone under the mandate as long regular testing is done. Again, I don't care if you get the shot or not. It's just a personal choice which has possible consequences.

Thankfully she doesn't.... At the moment. If this 100 person company mandate goes into effect? Then she would....I think. They would be close if not there now. Certainly no room to grow.

Maybe if it effected your life you would feel differently. If it comes down to us both losing our jobs that is what it will be. I'm good with that and we'll survive. It just shouldn't come to that.
Well let's keep going back like a broken record I guess. Here, I'll narrow down what I said before. You're not very credible when you keep playing the victim card.

The Infrastructure bill was dead yesterday until 13 Republicans flipped. 228-206. Otherwise it would have gone down in defeat 219-215.

Thirteen House Republicans voted to bail out Pelosi and Biden's agenda, giving them the majority in the House necessary to pass the bill.

Reps. John Katko (R-NY), Don Bacon (R-NE), Jeff Van Drew (D-NJ), Fred Upton (R-MI), Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), Don Young (R-AK), Tom Reed (R-NY), Chris Smith (R-NJ), Andrew Garbarino (R-NY), Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Rep. Anthony Gonzalez (R-OH), and Rep. David McKinley (R-WV) reportedly voted yes on the so-called bipartisan infrastructure bill.
Thirteen Republicans that put their country over politics. We need more cooperation like this. If Trump had given a **** about the betterment of the common man enough to initiate an infrastructure bill I'm sure it would of gotten great Democratic support. But no, like everything else, "After I'm reelected then we'll do it".

These Loons
Oh yes, the Loons. I've come to appreciate your brilliant simplistic way you point out those that you disagree with. Out of all due respect I think it only fair to follow your lead and do the same. So from now on I will also simplify things with the the term MOROONS. Let's go Moroons Lets go! Ya, that will work.

Biden Threatens Action Against Nicaragua After Socialist Daniel Ortega Wins Election
Good to see Biden and the Democrats stick up for the people that duly elected a president in a free and fair election and resist the tyranny of the self proclaimed king much the same way they had to do here.

After watching people hoard last year denying the elderly to purchase needed food items and such our neighborhood got together and shopped for them. What I saw in the stores was deplorable. It wasn't as bad in southern Utah but still shocking. So you think I'm going to worry about vaccination to "save my fellow man?" You've got to be kidding. I'm in this life for myself and if you don't like it, f u c k off. I don't care about the panic stricken.

As I've said before that "guilt s h i t " doesn't work on me.
I sure hope they don't start talking about toilet paper shortages again. All the opportunist Trumpers will be down at Walmart buying up everything so they can sell it to their neighbors for ten fold.

It was the people living off the system buying up all the toilet paper last time. They can post up at a store waiting for the stock to show up. The people that actually had to go to work for a living had issues finding toilet paper. What you describe sounds the typical liberal.
Oh dang it, you figured it out! Keep you guys working soo hard you don't have time or toilet paper to wipe your own asses.

Those ships contain niknak BS from China, No one cares except for WalMart. Our food supplies are in house and in check.

WalMart wants the port workers to work faster so WalMarts Christmas earnings will be bigger.
Exactly, people don't need all that crap. They should use their money to pay down their debt so the taxpayer doesn't have to bail them out later.

At 17 you are an adult in the eyes of the law in Texas.

A quick Google search show they are the same,

"In Wisconsin, you become a legal "adult" at age 18, unless you are under a legal adult guardianship based on disability. However, for criminal law purposes, you will be treated as an adult at age 17."

Kyle was actually running from trouble and the trouble followed. The trouble then assaulted him several times so he reacted within legal means. I am guessing you have not watched the trial and seen the testimony of the "survivor" that had his bicep shot off? He was a great witness for Kyle.
Ok, so he's a 17 year old man fully responsible for buying an assault riflle and a vehichle to drive hundreds of miles with it across state lines into a group of protesters and had no idea that trouble might happen. If you put it that way I'm really feeling sorry for the adult and the other adults that used to be responsible for him.
