Polaris Is Closing Victory Motorcycles

48464 107

Polaris Industries is shutting down the Victory Motorcycles brand after 18 years in business. Polaris says it will assist dealers in liquidating their remaining inventory and will continue to produce parts for another 10 years to support Victory owners.
"This was an incredibly difficult decision for me, my team and the Polaris Board of Directors," says Scott Wine, Polaris Industries chairman and chief executive officer. "Over the past 18 years, we have invested not only resources, but our hearts and souls, into forging the Victory Motorcycles brand, and we are exceptionally proud of what our team has accomplished. Since inception, our teams have designed and produced nearly 60 Victory models that have been honored with 25 of the industry's top awards. The experience, knowledge, infrastructure and capability we've built in those 18 years gave us the confidence to acquire and develop the Indian Motorcycle brand, so I would like to express my gratitude to everyone associated with Victory Motorcycles and celebrate your many contributions."

True, HC. Well I hope they stay up. I would miss the group here. It'll be interesting to see what happens to the membership numbers here after today's news and onward. Even when I switch, I plan on sticking around because I like the group here. I guess we'll see, eh?

I am SO unbelievably SAD about this news........ I love my bike 07 Jackpot, and will ride it til it dies. I am very concerned about outfits like: Loyds Motorworks, The Vic Shop, Cycleops, and others that make their living working on & producing amazing parts for Victory Motorcycles.... RIP Victory. It's been one hell of a great ride !!!

I'm not so sure that's true. I saw an unsold 2014 Judge at one of my local dealers this past summer. The dealer complained that his Victorys seemed to stay on the floor a lot longer.

This makes me incredibly sad. I LOVE my victory vision. It is sad that more people didn't give them a try and ride them. Once you ride one it's hard to think about riding anything else. My husband who is a die hard gold wing fan took my vision out over Christmas to get it out of the garage a bit. He said he would buy one over his wing if he was looking for a bike. As a lady rider this is a touring bike I can handle riding and it's like a dream to ride. I would not hesitate to buy another and I probably will in the future if I ever need another.

Hop over the English Channel we will find you a friendly dealer to look after your bike. We have beautiful countryside ... and our roads are better ... maybe.

I am reminded of the time when GM stopped production on the Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Saturn lines. Owners got their service, warranty and maintenance from GM dealers and had no issues with getting service. I expect this will go the same way with Indian dealers along with the old Victory dealers who usually have another product line to sell.

No changes will be made to the site. We will stay the course. Especially now with them discontinuing production, it will serve as an information depot and help members find parts / have work arounds as it always has.

Thanks,
- JB
