The bottom clevis has a straight side and a curved. I put there curve rearward, is that correct? Thanks.

the bolt hole on the lower clevis should be to the rear of the bike .. so it sounds like you have it backwards

I saw one pic that has the Schrader valve facing inward, if that helps!

When you look at the bottom clevis, the bolt hole is offset, not in center line. I put it with the offset facing forward pushing the shock away from the front of the swing arm. Otherwise it looked to me the spring would hit the swing arm.

Ok, does it affect anything though? There's not much travel to ever hit it with the pivot.
I asked online a few times and all I got was a discussion on what the valve is actually called! Someone with a kingpin had one installed with the valve facing inward and no negative follow up so I figured it would work!?

@wvrider1 From seeing pics on other threads some had bottom clevis facing the other way. Does seem to be lots of confusion on which way they face ( an arrow from dealer would easily solve that ) also the valve facing direction. Some bikes you do all the shock adjustments from left ( clutch side ) and others is from the right side ( throttle ) or from bottom, since is no factory adjustments on the xc’s that commonality is not there. I wonder how hard it is ( room wise ) to get to the Penske shock to make your adjustments, can you reach in & turn the knob & adjusting ring or do you hafta tear the bike halfway apart every time. I often take 5 min to readjust my other bike when goin from solo to 2 up ( it’s easy & fast to make adjustments on ) but the xct might always hafta stay set up for 2 up all the time.

My picture is wrong. The offset faces rear. Reason is on the inside. First picture is wrong. Look at the clearance and the clevis. As soon as the suspension collapses, the swing arm will come up and hit the clevis. Look at all the room in the 2nd. There's the answer and the why. 20210508_131643.jpg 20210508_140454.jpg 20210508_131643.jpg 20210508_140454.jpg 20210508_131643.jpg 20210508_140454.jpg 20210508_131643.jpg 20210508_140454.jpg 20210508_131643.jpg 20210508_140454.jpg

Ok, I can't really see what you mean. Should the rounded piece be in the front or back? And the Schrader valve faces in or out!?

Valve out. In this picture you can see the clearance the swing arm has as it travels up towards the clevis.
