No wrench for me as it makes no difference. He did mention this endeavor when I was at his place a year ago. I'm glad he finally got it together. Everytime I see these endeavors I'm reminded of a company that made one loaf of white bread. They put it in 5 different bags and everyone had their 'favorite'. Marketing, spin and BS sell a LOT of products in the world.

Lloyd wasn't at all interested when I asked him about doing another run of Victory mufflers. I suggested since all the R&D has been complete for years and you're working with a manufacturer to make Indian mufflers, why not also make more for Victory. No interest whatsoever, none, zip, he just hemmed and hawed and said he doesn't have the time etc. But this is good news for the forum Victory exhaust expert @crosscountryla
Like most of us becoming of age …. Once we get to our comfort level in life we tend to say …. MEH …. Been there done that. Time to move on. Then guys like you and me Mark …. We like keeping what we have running. I’m sure these bikes will out last us brother. They’re that good if they’re taken care of. Since my top end rebuild and new Maximus tune ??? I am now after 12 years ….enjoying again what this bike can do. Put a smile on my face every time I ride it.

Lloyd has Vic’s and he has Indians. He has enough to keep him busy for ever with Indian. Too bad Vics get such a red headed step child treatment even from some of the guys that helped make them better.

I was at an online Victory parts seller earlier this week. They had 7 bottles of 106” Vic oil. They also had 2 Octane oil change kits and 4 quarts of Octane oil.

I was thinking of buying out the 7 106” quarts to clean out their stock. I brought one to the parts guy and said, you have 7 of these left, how much are they. He tapped on the computer and said $15.95 each. I decided against negotiating and simply put the quart back on the shelf. If I could have got them for $10 to $11 each I would have bought all 7. Oh well.

For me, the oil bar has been set. It just doesn’t make sense to spend over $10 a liter/quart. Sub $10 per liter oils work perfectly so I’ll leave the higher priced oil for those who deem it necessary.

We did an oil change on my buddies 15 X1 last week using the Actevo 10/40. We rode a 300 mile day yesterday. He said it shifts great and no issues or engine noises. Hoping others get good results with their new choices of MC oil. Seems the Victory brand has priced them selves out of the running.

Have done nearly 1,000 miles on the Ultra1Plus 20w50 and couldn’t be happier. Reserving final judgement until the full cycle (I run a complete 5k before changing), but so far so good. Better shifts, cooler, noticeably less top end noise compared to the OEM oil.

not sure if T5 is JASO MA rated
T5 has NOT been JASO certified since it was changed in 2017 to meet the new diesel oil regulations.

Slick the chart you posted about T4,5&6 showed 5 to have a significant amount of Molly. Probably why Shell didn't bother to submit T5 for JASO certification.

Castrol use to make the Actevo in 20W40, I think it was back in 2014 that they dropped it. I was using their 20W40 in my Vegas. Used my last qt of 20W40 the second day of owning my Vision. Used 20W50 Actevo in both for 30&40k miles respectfully.

When I picked up my 2013 1k mile GQ XC in 2017 I poured in 4.5qts of 20W50 Actevo, that motor was just too tight for the 20W50, the top end was noisier than I liked until it was hot. Now I did buy the XC in February, so when I'd roll-out it was probably 30-40 degrees in a non-heated garage. I switched to 10W40 immediately, ran that until it was warm then mixed 2qts of 20W50 in for the summer. That bike didn't feel broken in until it had 30k miles on the odometer.

I switched all the bikes over to Spectro a couple of years ago now. The lighter bikes didn't feel much different. However there was a VERY noticeable difference in oil performance in the heavy weight Vision. That hard working 106 with it's straight cut gear transmission begged for new oil at 2500 miles with Actevo. I had been running 5k miles between changes on my Vegas with the Actevo with little to no change in shifts.

When I first switched the Vision over to Spectro I quickly clicked off more than 3k miles before realizing & checking trip 2. The Spectro has provided smooth consistent shifts in 4k mile intervals for the last 30k miles decreasing the offset in price, making it well worth it at $11qt. At $18 now my Vision will probably be the only one getting the Spectro.

To throw another product into the discussion, Yesterday I poured 4.5qts of Castrol's new 20W50 Synthetic motorcycle oil in a customer's XCT. He picked that up on Amazon for about $10qt.

Can’t see it being any better than this but I will still continue spending my money with Spectro. It’s 20/40 golden 4 and my bikes love it. 300 mile day Friday and my I’ll 11
Shifts great and just runs great. I go 3k then dump. It’s too hot and humid here to stretch an oil change on one of the hardest working machines on the street. Air cooled sharing oil with a gear driven tranny hard.

I remember that chart and yes T5 was put to rest because of its blend and addition of moly. It is important to stick with a motorcycle oil with the JASO MA2 classification even more so than just a Jaso ma only classification. MA2 is formulated better for wet clutch application and made for bikes with Catalytic converter. Jaso ma2 is a must.
