Oil choices vs. 20W-40 Spectro Golden (feel free to chime in Slick)

Heading on trip this Spring (with 2 HD Glides and my XCT) from Norfolk Va. to Seattle Wa.; will change oil (even though will only have 1000 miles since last change) before leaving. Plan to change oil in Wa. State before beginning return loop; what oil should I use if I cannot find Spectro Golden (always used since Slicks advice).

Greetings @slickvic ,
OK, I need to go to school please. What does:
It is not a group 5 ester based synthetic oil. 3 and 4 at best. They’ll never tell. But Your safe.
mean? Digging in the interwebs is only getting more confusing.

Those were some great posts. And few good pokes as well. I know the "O" thread is usually cause for the dreaded "red thumbs down", but this is one of the better ones.

Thanks for the response Slick...

@slickvic you liked the amsoil 10w40 Metric better than th 20w40 "formulate for victory and Indian"?
Seems counter intuitive that a "thinner" oil would feel better. Just curious...

How about this oil change scenario:

Two liters of 10W-40 Ultra 1Plus Semi Synthetic blend and two liters of 20W-50 Ultra 1Plus Semi Synthetic blend.

The result should be a 15W-45.
Greetings,
Point of interest. When blending viscosities, the "thinner is the winner". The lighter/thinner oil will dilute the thicker/heavier oil unequally compared to portions. To get to a 15w45 it would be more like 3L of 20W50 and 2L of 10W40
