Many members here have ran rotella for over 100,000 Miles on bikes. I used Castrol synthetic last change also with no issues. This will be my 2nd oil change. I bought used and it now has just over 18,000 miles.

The shop I use to own we sold the Spectro line as one of the brands we carried. I tended to stock what people asked for especially for oil, it was a good routine maintenance item to bring people into the store, so we were well stocked with a variety. I even had Harely riders coming into the shop to buy oil because Harley only wanted to push their own brand.

Seems like Sprecto oils must have been the rats ass back in the day like the 70's or 80's or some other older era, because the following we had for the brand tended to be an older crowd for some reason. I never experimented with it but I am sure its good stuff.

Go over there to www.bobistheoilguy.com and look at the used oil analysis reports for motorcycles.

There are some for Victory motorcycles, running various oils.

Captain Obvious....You of all people should realize that since our bikes have 3 distinct areas of oil importance...crankcase, transmission, and clutch/primary, that the only OBVIOUS choice would be...wait for it...3 in 1 brand oil from your local hardware store! Obviously! JMHO

Holy balls, you're right. It's so obvious.

Wow, that is going to be expensive to buy two ounces at a time. Not to mention how long it's going to take to squirt 4.5 quarts into the crankcase!

Went to this site you mention, Don't see any testing on ball bearings, which is the reason for not using full synthetic in a Victory according to those in the know,

I've heard that argument.... that synthetic oil is too slippery and would cause ball bearings to slide, instead of roll.

In my mind, it's like this: If the oil is good for a motorcycle with a shared sump (wet clutch) and does not make the clutch slip, then it's not too slippery.

And you're right, no one over at the web site is playing with their balls to see if synthetic oil makes them more slippery than regular oil.

Well I know a buddy that had ball bearing failure using full synthetic, No motor upgrades and have seen the remains of a couple more at one of the top shops dealing in Victory horse power. Not sure if these had upgrades though.

    So,
    This an oil thread.
Seems pretty tame compared to the Apes Thread or even the Dark Side Thread.
No name calling? No hair pulling?

    I want my money back!

Well, we could start a thread about HARLEY oil. THAT might spice up the replies....
