In my experience taking mine on and off, the lowers reduce the airlow on your legs and reduce the airflow over the front of the tank that contibutes to buffeting.

OK I got a Dumb question, when you guys are talking about "lowers" are you referring to the clear plastic fork mounted wings on the K.P.tour ??? OR an optional highway bar mounted one??? ( the ones that look like vinyl covers over the highway bars)???

Satxron, thanks for the clairifacation, BTW heres an ole cracker bending trick,
soak it in a hot liquid for about 1-2 seconds, works ever time. hehehe

The lowers do seem to help.
The covers on the highway bars work nice on those cold mornings and when it warms up they quickly slide off.
