Besides FOX Creek, is there another manufacturer of Naked Leather Jackets. We had my wife's jacked made by FC, shipping killed me at $70.00 per trip, plus return charges, (the jacket went back and forth 3 times). In the end she got a quality product that fits perfectly.

I got a quote from a small manufacturer out of Hamilton Ontario, but prices started at $850.00, that's about double what I'm willing to spend.

I've seen some of the discount sites like Leather Up, Mas Leathers, etc., I believe most of these jackets are imported from Pakistan or China, neither are countries I wish to support.

I specified "naked" leather as this is the best cowhide out there.
thanks for the help

I don't want to support my Ex-Wife either. But if someone cares to make a jacket out of HER hide, I'll buy it!

Here's a link to some USA made jackets I have been looking at:
http://www.americanmystique.com/motorcycle-vests.html
great product, but can't order from them, they will not refund or exchange, all sales final, for international orders. That's too much to ask when ordering on line, one company's XL is anothers L

You are correct with some jackets made in Pakistan but most leather these dayscomes from these two countries.
I did buy Sandra's jacket from Leathers up about half the price they want here
Regards
From what I've read, Pakistan has some of the best leathers and workmanship. The advertised Buffalo hide is actually Water Buffalo.
Still have trouble supporting them.

Well ending up getting a custom jacket made by Terez Leathers in Etobicoke. She was the seamstress for On the Fringe and has bought the Etobicoke store on Lakeshore Blvd.
On the Fringe still has their Port Dover store and one in Florida.

Price point, she is higher than Fox Creek, but I'm supporting local and will have a jacket tailored to my fit. She's old school European and is very knowledgable not only in leather but tailoring and sewing techniques as well. She was very helpful in guiding me at to what would work and what doesn't, but she will do as you ask, even if she doesn't agree. i.e. small "D" shaped coin pocket in front, they are a pain in the butt for her to make. LOL

Classic style top grain 1.2mm with a few extras that I have requested with tax $525.00. She can get Naked leather, but recommends top grain as you don't have to wait 3~5 yrs for the leather to break in. Naked leather has all the imperfections such as scarring, and apparently you waist much of the hide to get the best pieces, plus the thickness varies, so you must be more selective when making your pattern.

She does an initial measurement, followed by a fitting 1 or 2 weeks later and final finishing completed a week later.

I'll let you know what I think.

That's not a bad price for something that fits well and will last a lifetime.

This is a little late since you already have a jacket but a company that gets little mention is Hillside USA. I own a jacket and vest and think their quality is comparable to other U.S. manufactures, at a more reasonable price. Also Bikers Den sells their jackets and if you catch one of their sales you can save additional percentage depending on the sale.

I am a big fan of Fox Creek. I called them and give them specefic height/weight measurements and they shipped a jacket that fits my wife perfectly and is soft as butter. Naked cowhide is superior to top grain. Full-grain leather refers to hides that have not been sanded, buffed, or snuffed (as opposed to top-grain or corrected leather) to remove imperfections (or natural marks) on the surface of the hide. The grain remains allowing the fiber strength and durability. The grain also has breathability, resulting in less moisture from prolonged contact. Rather than wearing out, it will develop a patina over time. High quality leather furniture and footwear are often made from full-grain leather. Full-grain leathers are typically available in two finish types: aniline and semi-aniline. Top-grain(Most common type used in upper end leather products)leather is the second-highest quality. It's had the "split" layer separated away, making it thinner and more pliable than full-grain. Its surface has been sanded and a finish coat added to the surface which results in a colder, plastic feel with less breathability, and will not develop a natural patina. It is typically less expensive and has greater resistance to stains than full-grain leather, so long as the finish remains unbroken.

I have had a cpl friends order custom jackets from "On the Fringe" out of Port Dover. They also custom colours for personalization the jacket or coordination with your bikes. I haven't checked out their jackets up close but they seem to be really happy with them. (yes, I know the original post is 2 years old) http://www.onthefringeleather.com/

Pakistan trained a lot of theTaliban, who then went over to Afghanistan and killed a lot of our Guys.

I'll buy my stuff from anywhere else, but them.
