Well, it looks like the Phoenix part of my name will make a little more sense again. After a crazy week waiting around for my company to make some decisions it looks like we will be moving back to Arizona here very soon.
The only bizare part of the deal was when the VP signed off on the deal, his last words apparently were "I have the right to pull him back if I want." When my direct boss told me this I laughed at him because I didn't believe him at first. He said that this particular VP always likes to haveroom for change, but that it was a done deal. I told him that if something were to happen after I tell my family and take all the necessary steps that there would be hell to pay....and that VP would have to answer to my wife!! :)
I'll actually be in Phoenix next week and working the Southwestern US on a fulltime basis starting December 1st....geography will be AZ, NM, CO, UT,NV, and CA.Now we need to figure out how to get the family transitioned back out there ASAP.

I would say that you are moving just in time to avoid another Midwestern winter.

Good luck with the move.

Welcome back to AZ, I'm sure you'll appreciate seeing the wide open spaces & roads again.
And if ya miss the snow, theres allways Flagstaff, & Showlow. I'll bet the Mexican food in chi-town, just dont compare ta here!!, But then again the Italian food in chi-town is proabally so good its Mafia endorsed!!
Dont forget yer buddys are waiting for ya (snakes-scorpions-cactus-Illegals-sherriff Joe-DRY HEAT) and some of the best roads to ride in the country. P.S. I hope your BIG Boss doesnt mess with your relocation, Via con Dios Amigo!!

Putter, you're right about getting out of the midwest just in time....but it will still be a while before I can get the whole family moved. I need to find a way to get my bike out there as soon as I can so I can enjoy the rides during the winter.
Thanks for the welcome back Racky...I do miss the Mexican food and yes most of the best Italian food is definately Mafia endorsed. Looking forward to the Arizona rides and heading to Mexico every chance I get......Nothing like the Sea of Cortez! Also, should be a nice time to buy a house out there.
The big boss won't mess with this move as there is really no reason why that would make any sense. All I ever do is make him look good.

Make sure you get on the mailing list for AZ Victory. they are always planning day trips. I'm really going to miss Arizona this year. We won't be shipping the bike south this winter. Too many things on the go.
Enjoy the great riding.
Ken
Here's a sample of what they are doing.

Join us Sunday, November 8th for a lunch ride to the Triangle T Guest Ranch Saloon in Dragoon, AZ. Meet up at Arizona Victory Tucson at 1102 N Anita Ave in Tucson, AZ and we'll ride out at 10:30 AM. Kickstands up at 11:00 AM. It's about 60 miles East of Tucson in the foothills of the Dragoon Mountains. Bring a picnic lunch or eat at the Triangle T Saloon.
Please RSVP to Nita at Arizona Victory Tucson (520-770-9500 or [email protected]). We need to let them know how many people are going to be there.

Hey, glad you got back where you wanted to be. But I told you Bubba was leaving the State so you didn't have to!
Drop me a line when you get settled, I am planning a trip out West for the spring. Not sure where I am going but Arizona could work as a stop.

Congratulations Phoenix9 on Phoenix!

It sounds like the Big Boss could be grooming you for your immediate Boss's Job! So, while moving is a real pain, enjoy Phoenix...until you're faced with the decision of moving up the corporate ladder and back to Chicago!

Yes, it's a great time to buy. You could be Arizona's Stimulus Package with a new home purchase!

As a Michigander I'm jealous of the riding you have In AZ. I just don't know how you can take the heat in Phoenix? Flew in there this spring and couldn't head north fast enough!!

Thanks everyone!
I will certainly miss my friends I have met in the Chicago area and y'all are more than welcome when you come out to the desert. Dean and Jim, you guys have been great and I'll miss the rides.....you will always be welcome if/when you visit! To all the AZ and CA folks, I look forward to meeting all of you and getting out on some rides. When wemoved before we were living in the Litchfield Park area between the Wigwam resort and Luke AFB. We are definately planning on heading back to that exact same location.....great schools, good friends close by, and very quick access to Hwy 85 and Puerto Penasco.
Don, you need to make AZ a stop on your trip. The Keys are beautiful destination, but I promise I'll find a nice ride if you make it out.
Bikendad, The heat is crazy but I have learned from the past that it takes about 2 summers to get used to the heat. If you can make it through the 2nd summer, you will never be able to go back and deal with the cold/snow.....trust me, I know! I can never get warm here from November to April.
Davelau, You need to contact me bro if/when you get transfered to the West coast. I'll ride with you any day my friend.
Andy, Youare almost certainlyright about them looking for more from me down the road, but I made a promise to my wife and kids that when we get out of Chicagothat I would not move again until both my sons are out of High School and into College. If they have a national position/opportunity that would allow me to stay put I will listen, otherwise the family is coming first for the next 10 years. It's scary heading into a location with such a devastatingly bad economy, but it's not the first time I've walked through fire.....I just need to keep focused on the business at hand.
Man, I'm gonna need to find a way to get my bike out there ASAP!!!
