If you haven't seen "The World's Fastest Indian" starring Anthony Hopkins, I recommend adding it to your movie que.

agreed, I didn't expect much but it was actually quite good and entertaining.

Than again I also enjoyed Wild Hogs.

Never really enjoyed Easy Rider though, too hippie for me.

Sir anthony has some acting Chops, thats for sure.

If you ever had faith in some outdate thing you already had too much blood.sweat, & tears in a piece of junk to abandon it, this movie will strike a chord.

Mad Max & Easyrider are too obvious to mention, how about; "My Bodyguard"? an oldie but a goodie

Heres a few early 70's films that were not from the "outlaw biker" genre. I have not seen any of them for 35 years ; which may be because they were viewed as crappy movies or had limited popular appeal. I remember going to see them simply because they featured bikes.

On Any Sunday (Steve McQueen) Motorcycle Racing Documentary by Bruce Brown of "Endless Summer" fame.

Little Fauss and Big Halsy (Robert Redford & Michael J Pollard)

Electra Glide in Blue (Robert Blake)

I guess I need to tivo SOA.

As for Ghost Rider, it aint great, but any movie with Sam Elliot is at least worth a watch.

Wild Hogs: Marissa Tomei is worth the price of admission. My kids absolutely LOVE this movie.....my youngest, Jackson, could watch it day and night.

World's fastest Indian: this is by far one of the best movies I have seen. The motorcycle was just an added bonus. If you haven't seen it you need to.

How did I forget Harley Davidson and the Marlboro man.....not a great movie at all, but some pretty good scenes.

The first time I saw "The World's Fastest Indian"was on a Russian turbo mini-bus hurtling along a 2 lane road that most of the drivers thereon considered to be AT LEAST 5 lanes wide, any direction up for grabs and your choice. Cops? What cops? It was in Russian and it took me a while to figure out what was happening - in the movie I mean. The rest of the time it was better to watch the movie than to look at the multiple games of chicken in the middle 2 lanes for passing. This bus was part of the "game" and would follow a slower car at maybe 10 feet away to "get ready" to pass it. On a side note, last year 2 BMW M5 drivers (in Russia) would not give in while "passing" so they collided head on at about 75 mph- both survived, but the cars were total losses. Great cars but bad technique I spoze.
This was a bus to the airport, and had a drop-down DVD screen-player or whatever it is called. I recognized what whas going on, the time period, and just KNEW they had to go to the salt flats. I lived in NV at the time and was very familiar with CA (I hate to admit that) and NV and my neighbor UT.
It was a fantastic film, even in a language I did not understand at the time! Since then I have gotten the movie and treasure it because of a very mixed bag of emotions.
Bert Monroe said - "It is never too late to ride the ride of your life!"- something I am trying to do today. Just buying a bike and putting on chrome doo-dahs doesn't get it for me. I want to ride a bike, any bike (I don't really care who's brand is on the side) across Russia. I am working on it.
Great movie - a must have for alot of reasons, not just the bike!

Just started watching the documentery "Long Way Around" with Ewen McGregor. Pretty cool so far. Ewan and a friend (with camera crew) travel around the world from London across Russia, take a plane to Alaska and head into the States where they ride to New York. The total trip takes them almost 4 months and over 20,000 miles on BMW's.

Thank you for posting the pics of the Munro bike. that is an awsome movie and a great story. And as much as I hate to admit it.. I really like beyond the law with charlie sheen. That say that the guy the story is based on appears in the movie as an extra. I keep watching to see if I can pick him out. I'm thinking that it might be the guy that blood shakes hands with when they walk into that strip club. they never speak and you dont see that guy long.
anyway... Thanks this is a fun topic!

For a hoot I like "STONE". It's an Aussie flick about a cop who infiltrates a motorcycle gang. The gang is played by the real members of the same gang. Aussies think this is the best biker movie ever made. I'll pass on that and should point out it has bad hair, bad acting and bad fight scenes. But it has some great bike riding scenes done by a local race club. The gang rides KZ900 cafe racers (like the real gang) and the opposition rides Brits, except for a lone Ducati. I'm surprised they kept them running long enough to do a whole scene. Most of the main gang is played by the real deals; they even use their real street names. I got a copy last year on Amazon for about $15 shipped. Worth it IMHO.

Ok, I've been fighting the urge to put this one in here but I'd say it fits just as well as the movie mentioned above so here it is.
Every Which Way But Loose
Not really a biker movie but I always think of the bikers first when I hear this movie brought up.

Well, there is no denying Clint. And re previous post from Dagrey1, shouldn't you be waiting for bike storage season up in Minnesota before you start watching movies..... oh wait, maybe the cold weather already hit up there- lol in a nice way. Anyway, enjoy the movie, my favorite part other than the obvious speed scenes, was the "stick" scene. Very creative survival skill.
