I just had an idea. Why don't they just change the name all together. Something not offensive to any group.

Maybe something like Victory?

Is that taken? Lol!
Maybe the 2023 Indigenous® Motorcycle; First Nations® Motorcycle; Tribe® Motorcycle.
Whatever it takes to satisfy the woke in society. The ones who ride battery scooters.

It seems the Victory name is offensive to Polaris Industries Inc.

Does not matter what they name the bikes. Somewhere in the world someone will be offended, and they will have to change it again and again.

Does anybody really think that motorcycles with names like Indian, Scout and Chief were bought and revered and teams with names like Braves, Hurons and Warriors were loved because America did not have great respect for the American Indian people and their heritage?

It's what you do when you have nothing to actually complain about.... You grasp at straws.

A rose by any other name is still better than a Harley, to me. My next motorcycle will be an Indian, or whatever Polaris feels they have to call it. SJWs are not going to control me, directly or indirectly.

They can call it Penelope’s vagina, if it’s a good machine, I’d ride it, hard, for about 4-7 minutes

@Depot Picker, except when you remove the bodywork. At that point your Challenger has original Victory design and dna all over it. Top to bottom and front to back.

The Challenger should be an excellent motorcycle, it's dna is the updated Victory we were all promised. Your 2012 CCT, like mine, is 11 model years old. If Polaris hasn't learned to improve anything in those 11 model years they should impale themselves.

When Polaris makes an actual new, unique and/or innovative Indian design, I'll be anxious to see it and will applaud them for at least finally trying.

IMHO, so far they've only copied from previous Indian designs, H-D aesthetic design ques or their own original Victory designs.

Sorry, I give no free passes to Polaris just because I'm a Victory fan and appreciate their older work.

Let's say Polaris killed Victory and Indian at the same time. Then Depot Picker made the 'Challenger' with DP logos. Would you call it a DP or a blatant ripoff of Victory with H-D aesthetics wearing a DP logo?
With all due respect, They are vastly different machines.
All the best to you sir.

I have one of each. No comparison. I can't understand how people could say they are the same. Engine, suspension, electronics, clutch, and drive train. Other than both having 2 wheels, what exactly do you think is the same?
Version 1 - 2010-2017 CC/CCT
Version 2 - Updated CC/CCT with newer technology. Now called an Indian Challenger/Pursuit. Much of that technology was previously developed for and already slated for Victory before that brand was killed off.

Other than that, nothing. They’re vastly different.

One is an original design and the other is what was previously designed to replace that original design.

Had the Challenger/Pursuit maintained the original Victory tins, it would clearly be the updated Version 2 - CC/CCT.

Those who can’t see an updated Victory CC/CCT under the tins of a Challenger/Pursuit are, IMHO, simply choosing not to.

Like I’ve said, I’m still waiting for anything actually ‘new’, ‘innovative’ and ‘unique’ for the Polaris Indian line.

That means no more warmed over revised Victory designs (dna) using borrowed aesthetics.

That may have to come soon because the old Victory design folder is likely fairly thin at this point.
