Hi all, I have a 2012 victory vegas. I've use my maximus a few times before, just went to adjust and slap the basic stage one tune on my bike and adjust from there. In the process of flashing the ecm the maximus just up and disconnected mid tune. This in turn caused a failed tune/flash as well as preventing me from using the recovery option on the maximus software, or forcing the base map back through. Sometimes it says vcm not responding other times it says ecu not responding etc. I think my ecm/esu is fried/bricked and there is nothing I can do. Unless someone knows something here. If it is done fore can I get a computer from another bike same model, same model ecm and use it on my vegas? I'm supposed to have it dyno tuned in 2 weeks. Thanks IMG_20210726_202030_699.jpg IMG_20210726_202030_699.jpg

Did you get the Maximus from Noemtz?

I dont think I got it from him, but he did try helping me by forcing the base map back in and it just wouldn't take due to vcm error, or ecu not registering

Ok…he’s the expert on the Maximus, so not sure how else to help. Maybe others will chime in, but don’t be surprised if his name comes up again.

hope you can get it corrected.

Did you have the bike on a charger while installing the tune? Are all of your cables clean and tight?

Try to reinstall the Maximus software on your laptop.

Nice looking scoot. Yes you can get another ecm from same model etc. The Cross bikes and Vision are probably programmed a little different than the steel frame. Noe would know for sure.

I had my Vision tuned by Lloydz in Sturgis. The guy doing the tune was having trouble with similar ECU or VCM not responding/recognized. He had to get Ryan Randall at the dealership involved and he came up with a fix. Maybe talk to them and remind them that we were having a similar problem in Sturgis...

Didn’t buy it from me. There is a way to force flash the OEM file onto ECU. The one method I tried didn’t allow the flash in either. So a quick call to techno research will get you fixed up. Those guys are always ready to help Mon-Fri. They can remote in and do it directly if in fact no other external issues like bad ports, cables, voltage or shorts.

Noticed you still have the stock airbox, there's a brand new S&S intake here on market place for $275. With the Maximus and the Bassanis you really should jump on it, cleans up the bike and gets you a couple ponies too.

Following @NOEMTZ recommendation exactly should be the quickest way to a resolution.

Slightly Older picture, about a week before my bike went into its current position I installed the Loydz torque tubes intake.
